Why use them? They cost the same as locus grenades, and have the same radius. Locus grenades can instant kill someone, while flux grenades only take out the shields; what is the advantage of using flux grenades over locus grenades? Do they instantly detonate or something? I'd like some opinions from flux grenade users. |

The rip apart shield tanks but they still need a magnetizing or sig radius tracing function to be on par with Av nades |

I use them to help me kill LAV's and damage shield tanks. LAV shields don't stand much of a chance (most people use militia stuff) and my HMG easily takes them down. Shield tanks will usually run away after getting hit by 2-3 grenades doing 1200 damage each.
I also use them to take out all of the silly people that focus on shields only. |

Ya I use them as my primary nades, for anything shield it does great damage and seems to keep their shields of for a good amount of time. Yes a racking feature for vehicles would be nice. |

Getting away from locus grenades is really easy though. Flux grendes have a huge blast radius

That makes a lot of sense, though the attributes is misleading in the market; the attributes for locus and flux both have 6 meters. |

I think its just that the damage of locus grenade reduces the further you are from the center of the damage radius while the flux, I believe, stays the same through out the radius.
also I believe that flux grenades effect you even when you behind curtain cover. |

Yeah, my guess is Locus grenades: the further away you are from the centre of the blast you are, the less damage it does
Flux grenades: as long as you're in the blast radius you take full damage. |

I use tier 3, the M1 Locus nade and I use them well. (500 damage, 6.6 m) If people only learned how to time and aim the nades the groundpounding game would be very different indded. I use the Locus bacause it in many ways is more versatile. I can actually kill people with it for a start, and they are my only real asset to fight the fatties in cqc.
The Flux nades have practically more range, but they will not kill anybody. This means that i have to get out of my position and hunt them down for the kill, which leads to me exposing myself. The other thing is the fatties, if you meet one with 650 armor or whatnot they really don't help much.
They're also great vs people behind cover, time and aim them right and they'll explode in mid air over the target and take them out, with a Flux I have to run over there and finish the job.
I have been struck by the flux nades a couple of times but I've always managed to get out of dodge and survive.
And lastly its the sheer fun of the Locus'. Remember fun? I can't really describe how many times they've saved me from dying. There's been so many times that someone shots me in the back, I instantly start to cooc a nade and I do a 180 degree jump and release them just in time to blow up in someones face. And I've had many kills were I jump down from a high position, and I aim my throw as I fall only to release them right before landing. Blowing yourself up 50-100 times is to be expect to learn that timeing perfectly...

No no and no. Get gud.
If it wasn't for the NDA I'd make a tutorial vid for everyone who can't use them.
I will even go so far to say that the nade mechanics is the single best mechanic in Dust, indeed the best I've ever had in any FPS. |

They absolutely ARE NOT!
MAG had the best grenade mechanics in a shooter, and I had over 8000(6500+ on one profile, and another 2500 on another, just frag too) kills with them to prove it.
These grenade mechanics need a lot of work, and when I say mechanics,I mean throwing them, and the way they bounce,or lack there of.
Cooking the grenades actually sucks more than I thought they would, and I hate the fact that you just can't pull out a grenade and line up your throw without arming it.And on top of all of that, everyone pretty much has a wuss arm that can't throw them for any kind of real distance.I'm not saying that you should be able to throw them as far as a mass driver shoots them, but I find that it's hard to throw them onto platforms when you are on flat ground maybe 12-15 ft below.
Nope,these grenades kinda suck.

See that tank's shields? Now they're full. You hit it with a flux grenade- now they're gone.
Right now, they're mainly preferred by mass driver users to eliminate shields, and by the rare demolitions player to cut down shields on installations and still/slow vehicles before they start using explosives. |

Wrong, Flux grenades have a much larger blast radius than Locus grenades. They are also extremely effective at clearing objectives of remote explosives & drop uplinks. As well as causing many players to take cover when they see their shields drop, allowing me to flank them. |

"As good as" is not the same as dead. Not many no-fatties will survive a hit from my nades. |

The blast radius is the same, the difference is the loss of effectiveness you get the further you are from the blast with Locus nades. To get a kill on a guy at full health I normally have to hit really good, but then again, they still die. The follow up charge or flanking I can live without, there is others to kill normally.
However, I didn't know that they took out REs and DUs, thats very interesting indeed. Thanks for the info. |

I've hear that there will be an AV variant of the flux grenade which probably will deal 2500 damage and stop regen so 2 or 3 nades and you got a sagaris popped open for friendly SLs. (Hehe 7500hp damage hell yeah serves you right) but it still can destroy vehicles like an AV nade does to armor tanks :( |

It's easier to escape a locus than a flux grenade. Simple as that. When in a solid group, catching 3 red dots in a flux blast before the rest of your squad turns the corner is almost certain doom for the enemy. This along with the enormous damage to shield tanked vehicles and disabling enemy support equipment make them almost invaluable for at least one member of the squad to be carrying them. |

Except most good heavies will have around 500 armour, even on a type-II suit, which isn't exactly low... |
