I'm not standing for this silly nonsense of players QQ that vehicles are OP when no one tries to take them out except like a few guys. And if it's a organized group doing so they're still not playing smart enough, apparently, to kill a vehicle.
First of all >_> Advanced A/V Weapons do so much damage to vehicles that such QQ is unjustified. Hell you might not even be able to kill a tank because they ran but guess what though...THEY RAN AWAY. If you're really smart you'd catch the mofo as he tries to turn tail but even getting a hulking behemoth to back off is enough to support your allies.
Secondly, when have tanks and air support not been powerful? You think people can easily take out a tank so easily in real life without the proper skill sets and equipment? I argued it during the first QQ-catastrophe that tanks should be bulking monsters designed to lower enemy morale upon sight. That's exactly what they are. Nor are they invincible like many of you act like they are.
Essentially I'm saying "OP" is the right way for tanks. You can only have so many on the field anyway, and when they're on the field they're easy as heck to spot and are usually driven by some knucklehead who thinks he won't get taken out.
Thirdly the people QQ that this is becoming a vehicle game because of the use of vehicles are out of their gatdang minds. All of this talk is going to kill Dust. Why? Because you're trying to box in this game. So what if there are like 5, which I believe is the limit, vehicles driving around? What the Hell does that really say? Like. Have you not heard of war in our own modern days? Tanks and light infantry vehicles and then some are used all the time to tip the scales in a side's favor. And last time I check, as mercs we're fighting wars and battles where we use our own assets, or corporation assets, to gain the biggest advantage we can even if that means using a silly ole vehicle.
Fourth, vehicles will obliterate most unorganized teams. Why? Because they don't know what they're doing. When your allies are blueberries and nitwits or just plain ole newbies you're at a severe disadvantage anyway. I mean seriously we've all dealt with them before. The guy who stands next to a Letter that's has a virus progressing and doesn't hack the console or the guy who snipes from the mountain but misses everything or the guy that rides his vehicle in the red zones without planning to exit before time limit or...I don't have to continue. From your comments you guys must place your security and the team's security in these guys hands and expect them to actually help you defeat vehicles which would give you the notion that these things are OP.
I mean look at the tourney. Many people, despite the others who have QQ that it was just a "spam fest", have said that their wins were because of an equal balance *of infantry and vehicles. Sure there might be a lot of vehicles coming out to say "vehicle spam" but this is fricking war. You wouldn't let yourself gain a disadvantage because you don't like using tanks or hate vehicle spam, you're going carry your scrawny butt and hop in that tank and blow them away...hopefully.
The system is not broken right now. The playerbase is. At the first sign of a disadvantage they QQ and post instead of thinking first "Why am I at a disadvantage." and asking themselves after that "Is it an advantage that can be easily fixed with SP, ISK, or technique changing?". But nah. We like to run here and go on a rampage and or troll.
Following up, if you believe I'm ignorant I want you to go read history and Warcraft such as Sun Tzu. You're on a team. You're in a war. You use your assets wisely to win. |

I'd agree vehicles are not OP although their SP modifier could be increased. I'd like to see fewer nerfs and more increases in the amount of sp needed to spec into the more powerful weapon platforms. The HMG as example never needed a nerf in the E3 build it had 8x sp modifer as compared to the 4x for the AR they could have just increased the sp to a 12x modifier or something to that effect if they were being overused. If someone wants to spec into a very powerful weapon systems allow them to, but make the learning curved a lot steeper. In the end you still may get owned by the person in the tank or ds but if their commitment to reach that goal is 10x harder than yours to be a great AR trooper than so it be it. You've both made a choice and had to pay its price in time and effort. |

Vehicle health isn't an issue. It's the damage output of turrets. |

@Tyrus True! But people are pricks here. I gotta lay it all out for them.
@EddieDingleIX This is a possible solution for the "spam" issue that people keep bringing up. I wouldn't be mad with this because we'd have less newbie just trying to gain points, playing with tanks.
@KainSpero On one side I I have not problem with, and on the other side I do. Missles are supposed to be nasty. Nothing but. However if it's tweaked down a little, but not to the point where infantry can easily match their strength, I wouldn't be mad. |

Honestly, agreed with OP, for the most part.
There are MINOR issues with turrets - missiles in particular - that make them a little OP, and adding that to a good shield tanked HAV or a Dropship with a skilled/smart pilot can be pretty nasty.
But in general, even a well-fitted HAV can be effectively removed from the equation by a couple of good AV guys with the right tactics.
If I'm alone, or running with only 1 or 2 players using Starter AV Fits, I bring my all-BPO AV Suit (modified from the same Starter Fit the majority of Swarm blueberries use) and try to just act as a distraction. Worried tankers are less dangerous tankers. Keep them wondering where the next volley of Swarms will come from. Make sure they're flinching at shadows and shooting at ME instead of the guys capturing B and C.
I've spent 3/4 of a match just dashing from cover to cover and throwing Militia Swarms at a near-invulnerable Gunnlogi so it didn't go after the rest of my team. I died twice, neither of which death was to the Gunnlogi, and got 4 kills (2 enemies on foot and a nice LAV with a driver and gunner). At the end of the match, the Gunnlogi was still alive, but camped in the enemy team's redzone trying to bait me into staying visible for long enough to get hurt. |

!!!! I respect a fellow like you. We have that in common. I used to try to scare the tanks into fleeing or losing focus. Either two would greatly increase the chance of us winning.
And yeah small, but not massive changes wouldn't be bad in my eyes either. We just need for tanks to stay tanking lol. If not what's the point of having them? |

most important issue: THESE MAPS ARE A FRACTION OF THE SIZE OF THE DISTRICTS PLANNED TO EXIST AT FULL RELEASE! Things act much differently when there's more room for both them and their enemies to move around in. |

Not just that but all maps allow for tanks to go almost everywhere. There was some maps that didn't allow this but once we get more there will be, hopefully, a better understanding of how the battlefield works among players... |
