I never knew about the buff actually. Perhaps experiencing latency or poor\early game development? Stuttery and jerky bothers me. 3. If Forge guns are the go to AV weapons why bother having Missile\Rocket Launchers? 4. RPG elements are FINE and I feel it gives the game that longevity it'll need. But that much? 5. I honestly don't think it's personal opinion. I worked in the games industry professionally for around 6 years. Our focus tests say the sniper class is the most detested class in team based FPS... because they're never part of the team. 6.Run and Gun needs to die, that's what I've found in my work and focus testing. it's fallen out of favour. It's archaic and has no part of the game. Name one R&G that has longevity? 7.Noted. 8. HAVs should be fine yeah, i'll give you that. LAVs though I think we can agree on. Like I said, incredibly rare though. 1. Complaining that people who are bad at the game are trying to use a bad tactic that doesn't work isn't a valid complaint. The only time people who know what they're talking about object to bunnyhopping in FPS games is when doing so is actually a viable strategy, typically when doing so messes with the game's hitbox calculations.
2. In the E3 build, they had strafing turned WAY down. You COULD fight without it, but it was a ridiculous over-buff for skilled Scouts, who could sprint around behind an enemy, then turn faster than the target to get a free half-mag into their back before taking any return fire. By which time they'd be able to see the opponent had almost turned, and repeat the process to remain invulnerable except when double-teamed.
3. Swarm Launchers are GREAT against LAVs, and good to support Forge Guns with against HAVs. They're also more effective than Forge Guns against armour-tanked HAVs.
4. The game is about the long-term. So yes, that much. You can create a character on release and set them to generate passive SP, then come back and start playing 6 months later if you really want to avoid the grind.
5. Snipers are often hated in team shooters because people don't understand the value of the role. DUST is no different. I'm not a sniper myself, but I know a few people who are actually GOOD at the role, instead of being your usual K/D obsessed kids. And yes, they get good K/D, but they understand their role wouldn't be possible without someone in front of them to keep the enemies at range. An unsupported Sniper is a dead Sniper. A well-supported Sniper is going to be SAVING HIS TEAM REGULARLY. Unfortunately, DUST is still working on that balance - but it's getting better.
6. Halo. Transformers: War for Cybertron. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. If they hadn't ruined a couple of other elements (like not including anything resembling a competent matchmaking system), Brink might have made the list as well. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. If you want, I'll be able to look some more up, that's just the ones that come to mind immediately. |
