Also, it would be nice if you follow CCP in this: https://plus.google.com/u/0/116611489562618148277/posts
You can also follow these people on Twitter: @HilmalVeigar @EveOnline <---can provide clues here for Dust. You'd be surprised. @dust514 @CCP_CmdrWang
I understand a lot of you are not use to the idea of just patiently waiting like us Eve Online players had to endure to get any information. But you have to understand that CCP is just trying to be careful. They don't want to put out too much information and risk bring up too much speculation but at the same time they have been giving out enough information on the matter to at least ease our suspense somewhat.
Here are some friendly reminders. Please don't troll me because I'm only helping here and I don't like it when people act like a complete jerk to those who are just being nice.
If you haven't already done so, please make sure to use the SEARCH function of the forums to see if someone already mentioned any issues you brought up. If they haven't, then you can post your complaint. If someone already has, then post in that thread instead because clogging up the forums with repeat threads don't work. They never do. However, I have noticed that threads with a long list of pages has a tendency to grab CCP's attention.
Be professional in your posts. I have seen enough of CCP's habits to notice that they don't pay attention to threads that sound like this:
CCP! WTF! YOU BROKE GAMEZ FIX DROPSHIP NERF SNIPERS WAAAAAAAAAH!
But they do pay attention, even though they don't directly show that they do, when they see a thread posted like this.
CCP, I noticed a problem with the texture rendering causing my character to show up visually across the entire map without the enemy having to first spot me in the TACNET. This renders my profile dampening skills useless because my texture rendering causes me to be highly contrasted with the terrain even when I'm hidden behind dense fog.
Also, be respectful. CCP developers are working hard to address every issue posted and obviously don't have enough people assigned to respond to every little post we make because they are too busy fixing what problems we found so that the next build can be stable.
Remember that what bug/glitches/issues you find and report are all going to be addressed in the next few builds. There are some problems that are simple enough to fix with a simple code submitted through the PlayStation Network, but there are also problem that are just too complex to fix properly with a hotfix and thus require a new build to address it. So just because you don't see certain changes happening in the current build you are on right now, it doesn't mean that CCP is not paying attention as it could be that CCP is trying to fix it for the next build/update and are just being mum about it until the time is right to spill the beans.
It seems that a new build is given out every 6 weeks based on everyone's observation on how often the previous builds were released to us. As of this post, rumors are once again circling that the next build will be out in 2 weeks. This brings me to my next point.
Stop believing in rumors. Unless CCP said so directly and there is proof shown, don't believe in the rumors. We have had enough people here think that October was the month Dust 514 get's released or something like that because of what some guy from Sony said earlier. But the fact of the matter is that CCP made no mention anywhere officially about the release date. Now CCP has officially postponed Dust 514 open beta until 2013 so that CCP can have more time to get things right. As the old saying goes. If CCP didn't say it, whether in an official dev blog or via an interview, whatever you hear may not be true. |

Somebody even took the liberty of relaying everything that was said on the chat and posted it on the forums, also taking any questions made in that thread to be posted on the chat. Really, CCP has been pretty good (epesially compared to other devs with games in betas) with their communication in my opinion. IRC is not the voice of the DUST community. This is the voice of the DUST community. CCP should be here. Not playing Sylvester with that tweety bird thingy.
IRC is part of the voice provided by these forums. So is Twitter, Google+, etc. I follow a bunch of official sources coming from CCP through these networks. |

I might of been more inclined to continue playing if I thought CCP needed more opinions, but this build only tweaked and added little, so most of the major issues and bugs have already been brought up, I'm ready for something new, otherwise my dusty RPG's need a little elbow grease. There is actually no wipe planned for the next build. The plan seems to be to wait until the game moves to TQ server for the next wipe. Also... the tourney kept you here? Why? It was fun, but not that important.
Where has CCP posted this information? If it's from IRC, they perhaps you are right. If not, what is your source? I don't usually like or listen to second-hand information. Even though Zion Shad tends to post what he saw in IRC for us, he still makes it clear that whatever information posted on IRC is not exactly written in stone. |

Captain-Awesome wrote:argh no offence but you guys are ungrateful.
They come into IRC, They have interviews in cast514 and zions podcast, they give us weekly updates on their meetings, they read all of our threads and make a point of it, the support answers your questions within 24 hours
and yet you still cry your little tears. It's not that ccp doesn't communicate enough, it's you being ungrateful and not realising that building a game takes more than chatting to a bunch of ungrateful teenage characters who would rather have social status than a finished game.
get a grip for **** sake.
I hate you for being an Imperfect, but I agree with you on this. |

Internet relay chat.
Kind of like AOL or MSN messenger but with more control for the host and thus restrictions. |

fenrir storm wrote:Mister Hunt wrote:Actually Fenrir, you DON'T have a right to know what you are testing next. And no sarcasm either. You see, if we violate our NDA, we get banned. If a CCP employee violates their much more stringent NDA, there can be legal consequences. So don't throw a fit if they can't release patch notes 2 weeks in advance, or in advance at all. We are supposed to be testing this game, not trying to actually play for enjoyment. As far as the forum vs. the irc channel, I get plenty of information right here on the forums. I know how to get that information. Sitting there griping about everything is not the way. Makes a change from they are to busy response, makes my head spin how people stick up so much for ccp, I've been beta testing since the days of dial up modems and 200 mhz pentiums, in that respect this is the poorest forum for dev involvement or lack of that I have ever experianced. I to can search for all the info I need but some can't or don't know how to so the forum should be the devs first point of contact and should be awash with there input. The strict nda went out the window the day they opened up beta to a large volume of playes who did not even apply for beta.
It doesn't matter how long you have been beta testing before testing CCP's beta in general. The fact of the matter is that this is CCP games' private business. They are the only ones with the right to say how they will conduct their business. Not some ranting consumer like you. If you think you are better at running a business, why don't apply for a management position at CCP Games? Better yet, start your own. Until you decide to do that, you will have to accept the cold harsh reality. |

Oh? And how do you know how many people have stopped posting? CCP hasn't given us the metrics in the matter. Where do you derive this precious information? |
