This should be noted. This behaviour can be altered through the use of a self destruct feature. Such as when your out of the tank you take the keys and attached to the keys is a remote detonator.
Might be used in new ways too, such as using a nice shinny tank as bait, wait until somebody hacks it, jumps in, and their team/squad join them, then remote detonate. BOOM, Loads of SP....
Should only be a class five skill though, with having to have several skills at level five before it avaliable like the shield modules on prototype.
I can actually fly in real life, and to answer your above question, since the last build, flying a dropship has become much harder. But unless you have the pilot skill set, you should'nt even be offered to sit in the pilots seat..

Don't forget to add the entire dust community to that list as well you idiot, i'd be suprised if people didn't rage about losing a 3MIL tank to some dickkunt who though "Oh look a shiney vehicle lets jump in and drive over this weird red line thingy and see what happens". Get some brains kid =)
