Was it registering hits? I've used every type of LAV turret plenty of times- even militia blasters can kill someone fairly quickly IF you hit often.
Btw, HMGs for LAVs (aka autocannons) haven't been implemented yet.
EDIT: also, were you in range? |

EDIT: also, were you in range? I was registering all hits, and yes he was about 76 feet away
that's still kindof far for the bad blasters- efficiency was probably terrible |

News flash driving around in an LAV isn't an I-win button. Not true. I've taken gunners off the backs of LAVs without having to do headshots.
I've been in the blaster of an LAV with an enemy LAV (also with a gunner and a blaster turret) parked right next to me- we were shooting at eachother NONSTOP- only headshots were registering (the turrets were getting hit, and it was being counted towards damaging the LAV, not our dropsuits)
So yes, it is true |

You two were firing head on at each other. I was shooting the guy in the side as he was firing at a group of team mates to my right. Not one head shot, just chewed him off the LAV with body shots.
I think either I misread, or the post you were originally replying to made a typo- I believe what they meant to say was that if THEY are facing straight at YOU, you can't hit them aside from headshots.
EDIT: On a side note, a way to improve small blasters and small railguns is to change the "small hybrid turret operation" skill- instead of making those turrets deal more damage per level, they should have a longer effective range per level. |
