i have played dust514 on two version of PS3, with default HDD (5400 rpm) and my own PS3 with SSD (O-íZ vertex 4)
HDD version have microfreezes when load textures during match (when i moving or turn camera) -VERY OFTEN and it make game uncomfortable. All my friends (4 guys) with default HDD who tried dust514 - told me about microfreezes.
SSD version almost have not microfreezes, because load of textures much more faster
But on conquest with 16vs16 with some vehicles and intense shooting i had significantly decrease FPS rate (as its seems), game still playable, but it is must be fixed anyway.
I think many players cant distinguish difference between lags and microfreezes, so i created new thread.
Game have not much lags (problem with network performance), but sometimes i have significant lags too (1-2 of 10 matches),its seems like sometimes i joined to server not from my own region. |

Quick fix... replace original 5400 rpm HDD with 7200 rpm HDD. SSD is still overused/overpriced here.

I would rather see the game fixed so it runs smooth on the hardware it is supposed to run on. |

Maybe 7200 rpm will fix it, maybe not. Because HDD drive always need more time to access to data than SSD.
But CCP develope this game for DEFAULT PS3.
I doubt they will write "for comfortable playing you MUST buy 7200 rpm HDD" xD
p.s. when i bought SSD i thought it will overuse/overprice, but i never regret when i really tried it ;) |

There is difference.. trust me. (5400->7200) So even that simple change make game less ... painful ;)
Consoles are build to simplifiling use and good comfort. Anyway... when things go complicated they end like PC... you try modding it at any level to get better performance. Acces times, transfers, durability... are terms from another story, but not probably be here :) I wish you that your SSD will work always on console.
CCP make some optimalizations too, dont worry.

Difference? of course it is Enough difference? - i dont know ;)
SSD have great advantage with random access vs HDD, and as i see in my PS3 it do playing in digital versions of games MUCH more comfortable (especially online FPS)

It is right story, and actual story based by my own expirience :) For guys who like comfort more than a little money for SSD ;) Yes, maybe i use 10-20% potential of my SSD, but i dont regret :)
