I had the idea?? that Codex build was 2 GB more or less??
For kicks before launching Dust I had a look at the information tab where the total Megabytes or Gigabytes of an installed game are listed and to my shock it says 7 GIGABYTES!!

So now I am wondering if other folks can please post the build size that they have on their PS3 units??
Perhaps there is an unknown bug where the build size increases as time goes on and this perhaps is creating a memory leak on the larger Skirmish maps??

 Please post your build size.

 Thanks.

 Lol.
It started off at around 2gb way before e3 build, each build adds new stuff so it goes without saying the file size is going to increase, mine is 7gb also bro, and next build it will increase to 10+ and keep increasing as it goes along. Full release file size may be in excess of 20gb because there's a whole universe in them there hard drives

I wonder what the build size is for folks that did a delete and a fresh install?

Thats very interesting since it confirms what I suspected that every time the game does a recheck synchronization that those data bits are added to the total build data size.

Now I am wondering if the memory leaks were due to the build creeping up in data size??

So if I do a delete and fresh install it brings the size down from 7 Gb to a much smaller 2GB.
And we get to keep the merc packs/skinweave items since those are saved server side??

How long have you had this build without a fresh delete and reinstall?

i did a delete and then a fresh install. when the download is done your at about 2Gigs...then when you start to go into the game it'll update to 3.0 and then download another 2Gigs....so your lookin at around 4Gigs give or take a few MB.

i just upgraded to a SSD and had to redownload Dust, well its changed again.
this time the Mordu's Private Trials installer was already updated, i downloaded about 2800MB.
i launched Dust expecting to see a Sony Update to patch Dust to 3.xx whatever we were last but it didn't.
the game launched, downloaded some small things on the in game downloader.
i quit the game and checked info and it was at 2800MB (just under)
nice to see they've worked on their client and patching

I just purchased a new PS3 and I am going to install Dust 514 on that new unit to check the data size for today and also to compare how it runs versus my older PS3 unit Dust 514 7 GB without fresh installs.

i upgraded my HDD to a SSD and the new Dust client did not need a update it only had a small update in game

i dont think they were patching properly before? it appears it was leaving a ton of old data behind

IMO everyone should delete their client and redownload the newer slimmer dust client

this is my post from earlier in this thread on this issue and my experience:
