Before you even look at fixing Swarms v Dropships in terms of Damage and Speed, fix the god damn knockback. It's absolutely ******** that a Dropship is expected to act like a transport vehicle when it can be flipped by a free swarm launcher. This is the main reason Dropships will never become Transport Vehicles, why bother coming in to pick someone up when you'll just lose that 500k ISK (Minimum for a slightly good Dropship) by being flipped by free stuff.
Reduce the Knock back or you will never see a Dropship Pilot try and help his team by fulfilling the Transport role. |

Nothing? All you morons running around yelling at the top of your lungs "AMAGAD DROPSHIPS AREN'T DOING WHAT THEY'RE MEANT TO DO" yet you wont comment on this? Just nerfing stuff on a Dropship wont make it do what it's suppose to do, things like fixing this ridiculous knockback will help. |

You do realize that it's easy to maintain control if you don't let it go on it's own like an idiot right? This isn't an issue at all
Edit: you're the only moron if you can't recognize that the Ds is the only Op thing besides the redline |

You do realize that Dropships can be flipped instantly and you can only regain control if you're high enough in the sky. If you want to come in low to pick up someone and get hit by swarms? You will most likely be on your back. This is a major issue if you want dropships to actually do their job. I've seen it, I've done it, I've been piloting and done it.
I've watched people flip their dropship when coming to pick me up, I've shot people with Swarms as they've come in low to kill me and they've flipped and the majority of ships I've lost? They're due to the knockback, either sending me into a wall or the ground. I'm totally fine if that was a Prototype swarm launcher, but we need to be reasonable about this. a Militia Swarm Launcher should not be that powerful. |

I agree knockback is excessive, and there is no need for hostility. |

I get frustrated when I see the majority of players on this forum yelling for nerfs yet offer no reasonable fixes. "AMAGAD DROPSHIPS OP NERF IT ALL", yet a free militia launcher can take that ship down if the dropship slows down. You have people demanding the swarm launcher is sped up but do not think about the consequences.

Then how can i easily maintain control with a 3m window for error which is low enough to pick up infantry and the main purpose is to drop them into combat, not a hostile extraction because that's what lavs are for through their ability to maintain speed while picking up people |

How many swarms have hit you at that moment? I'm not against knockback, I'm against knockback flipping me, it's stupid. You get hit once, you're fine, you get hit again and somehow you're on your back. -_- |

Vehicles are way too overpriced in my opinion, they are not worth their costs. If they were buffed to worth their cost then they would too powerful though. I think a massive price cut would be good for vehicles. Don't make them stronger, just make the price reflect what you're getting.
I suggested that there should be turretless variants of dropships with more HP before in Wolfman's variant thread before, but I think it would be simpler just to allow the removal of turrets. This will allow dropships to free CPU/PG to fit more defensive modules to increase survivability (thus making it better for troop transport).
About dropships specifically (and swarms): Do not increase the swarm speed of all swarm launcher swarms. Speed should depend on the tier of the swarm launcher (militia should have slowest swarm, and prototype should have fastest swarms). Maybe add a skill to increase swarm speed. Giving all swarm launchers a speed buff would punish dropship users who spent lots of ISK and SP on their drophips, while rewarding swarm launcher users that only use the free swarm launcher fits without making any ISK or SP investment.
Missile turret splash radius could use a slight reduction.
Knockback needs to be reduced.
Another way to solve the swarm vs dropship problem without making militia swarm launchers OP would be adding new swarm launcher variants designed for handling fast targets (dropships). Militia swarm launchers should remain slow and crappy since they are free. Swarm launcher variant that fires weak but very fast swarms. Also have a smaller magazine. Swarm launcher variant that fires swarms that detonate in the air after a 30 seconds, and do splash damage to any vehicle in the splash radius. Lower direct damage, and smaller magazine. |

The only difference between launchers, besides fitting reqs and magazine cap, is in the number they launch each shot. The militia and basic SWARMs launch 4 missiles per shot. The advanced launch 5, and the protos launch 6. Otherwise, they all fire identical missiles that have the same speed, range, tracking, and 300 damage.
The biggest thing that needs to be fixed with the SWARM is the tracking where they should be taking the shortest path to any target, not follow it around. |
