Nearly everyone is either a tank driver, a dropship pilot/gunner or running an assault suit with an AR. Why doesn't anyone use anything else? I guessed you missed the part where some people headshot snipe you from across the map, gun you down with a HMG at close quarters while watching your squadmate get pwned by the Heavy's Scout buddy with a shotgun, or Free Healing's Logi suit behind you when he revived you, repaired you, and rearmed you. Or my personal favorite, calling in an LAV and using it's super stealth sneaky-sneak motor to run you over from behind.
Tectonious Falcon wrote:I would also like to say- why does everyone call in vehicles in ambush? On the AU server ambush was usually for infantry fights and skirmish was where people used vehicles. All of yougo on about how good you are, so why don't you use vehicles in skirmish where it's more challenging? Ok, so let's not use vehicles.

CCP please stop giving me US games as they aren't anywhere near as fun as AU games are. Run in a squad, not a pre-determined one that the matchmaking gives you, but a squad of people you can talk too. Vehicles go down pretty quick with 4 forge guns. |

I am speccing into tanks as a more of a side project to use for fun every now and then. But I have some friends in my corp that have sagaris's and still play infantry. I don't know why they have to bring vehicles to ambush when they're obviously going to slaughter everyone because there's no easy way to become organised in it.
I guess I just expected that the type of people attracted to this game would also be attracted to challenges. I find it much more fun to gamble my expensive stuff in tough matches and getting that thrill when you charge into a group of enemies breaking through their lines, coming close to death but being saved by your friends in your corp.
Well at least not everyone does it. Had some fun duels against you in my heavy and I can honestly say the few matches I had against you were some of the best I've had. You probably didn't see me but they were fun nonetheless. Anyway after a few games I started finding more enjoyable ones, but as they say a first impression is everything and this one left a bad taste in my mouth. This was my first impression.
Sadly, first impressions only work when it's your first exposure... sorry that your first impression left a bad taste in your mouth...
But remember, right now, it's still in a Closed Beta. Maybe they'll have an Open Beta. There's still many things that need addressing, many fixes that need patched, many balance issues that need work... it's a work in progress.
Attracted to challenges? You bet! Have a raged when I tried to solo a Gunlogi with my Heavy Type-I with a Breach Forge gun and lost? You bet! But I learned that it's a team game, not a solo sport. Sure there may be times where you turned the tide at the last second, but from my experience, that turning of the tide happens more when you get a team that you communicate with over mics. Maybe your team is down by 30 and there's no hope in winning the match. Then play strategically and know that you might lose this fight but win the war later on down the road. Save that Sagaris you've got in your pocket for when your team is full of corpmates willing to cover you. Save that 100,000 ISK dropsuit for another time so you don't get blown to smithereens by the enemy encircling dropship. Remember your enemies! They may have tips for you. They may be your friends or future corpmates down the road. And if they are your enemies again, you will remember that it was them that had a tank or a dropship, blasting away at your teammates; bring your squad together a devise a strategy to take them out, or strategically retreat with Militia gear, knowing your ISK was well saved! |
