This game is highly reminescent of Battlefield 2142 in a way... And this is not a bad thing by any means; the customization, character development, etc. is light years beyond, of course. Looking forward to great things, just hope CCP sticks with it.
Funny, I discovered Eve Online back in 2007 while being a BF2142 very active player, in some visceral way, it feels like a circle coming "back" to 2142  |

2142 was my favorite game from the Battlefield series, and even with Dust to play now, I really hope that Wake Island easter egg actually means they're working on a sequel to it. |

Long time BF2142 player here, I also worked on Northern Excursion (unofficial expansion pack that DICE was really interested in helping and releasing for patch 1.51 around 2010, but they decided to drop support for 2142 late 2010 and released beta 1.51 as final and no Steam release).
I really hope they make a sequel to 2142, but with most of the stuff the same (e.g. retelling or continuing the briefly outlined events in 2142, weapons/equipment/vehicles the same with some new ones as well) in Frostbite. I don't even care if the gameplay itself would be roughly the same as BF3, as long as its setting and atmosphere is the same as 2142 with titan mode as an extra gamemode, I'd play that every day. |
