Anti Armor starter with swarm is free, the dropship (as someone above said) is not. However, there isn't much point to a weapon that rarely (if ever) hits aside of catching lag, pure dumb luck, or incompetence.
Proposal: Fix Swarm Launchers.
How:
Basic Swarm Launcher Type -- Fire only two missiles [instead of four], high speed, high tracking, high likelihood of hit, but the damage is obviously limited. The overall speed of the missile should be only barely (slightly) higher than that of a dropship in fast flight. End Result: Fair chance of catching a dropship, but without doing severe damage or flipping it.
Tracking Swarm Type -- Higher damage, slower, has a very long flight duration, tracks well. Downside? Can always be outrun. End Result: Catch dropships that aren't going at high speed, or are hovering in one spot.
Velocity Swarm Type -- Lower Damage, faster, shorter flight time, less tracking [takes the most simple/direct path to target]. Downside? Easier to shake the missile into structures or terrain features, won't fly forever, limited chance of hit despite high speed (basically - being closer to the target increases your chances of hitting). End Result: Fairly good chance of hitting closer dropship target, lower chance of hitting far away target.
Right now swarm launchers seem pretty poor in general, in the sense that all they really do [without me giving them a better look] is increase number of missiles or increase damage, they don't seem to increase in speed or have any real variations beyond that. It makes them a terrible weapon in my opinion.
Then again, you could just do what I do and forge gun derpships down. |

I suggest you try the forge gun instead! Come join the fatty side, it's better over there - free ice cream. Yep, forgeguns work. When faced with a weapon that can take them out the Dropship pilots very quickly find something interesting 'elsewhere'.
