Just fix the swarms.

Then let's have them lock onto dropsuit signatures too. |

Because they will run out of targets in no time. Free no skill weapons that can instakill a dropship by surprising it will quickly remove dropships from he game. Then it will need new targets.
When I'm sitting on the ground I'll want to have fun with it too, and if we can have free no skill vehicle killers we should have them for use against infantry too. |

Not really, if you keep the speed the way it is good pilots still have a chance, only difference is they have to do more than fly mindlessly in a circle.
Not really.
Swarm Lunchers are a free fit. Anyone on the battelfield can haul one out at any time. Fire a set at n approaching ship and the knockback will halt it in the air for another volley to finish it off. Congratulations, you have just soloed a 750,000 ISK ship with your starter fitting!
How is a good pilot to know who just spawned in with a launcher in order to avoid it?
The answer is, there is no way. You would have to assume every objective and supply depot had at least one, and that there was a 50% chance that any other soldier had one. So a good pilot out stay away from everyone.

The problem isn't swarms or dropships, it's the fact that their turrets are so heavily overpowered and able to fire quite accurately from a nearly invincible moving platform.
People need to realize what the REAL problems and issues are and get THOSE fixed rather than, "Oh, swarms are worthless" or "OH, DS's are too powerful". It's not the ship itself, it's the lvl 2+ accelerated missile turrets people have firing from them and 1-shot killing whole squads of infantry. It is also the swarms and the dropship Swarms cant catch dropships and even if they do they barely cause damage, dropships themselves are ment to be more of a transport role hence the MCRU but ppl are taking them off to have more tank so really the MCRU should be able to be removed
Standard level ships don't "come with" MCRU's, and you can't remove them from the advanced ships.
I do have a fitting with a MCRU, and it's more of a liability. Random gunners hit the ship and make it swarm bait, and six blue dots will spawn in and never leave.
Yes, ML's are the killer weapon no matter what they are mounted on. Why would a DS mount anything else? That tank that took me out last match did it with large missiles. |
