I don't know if any of you have had the experience to play with a couple guys named:
Deathfromafar and HighTimesSW
These guys have figured out a strategy that involved sitting in the safe zone in a HAV in the mountains on a certain map (The mountainous one with only 3 capture points where objective B is on a high cliff overlooking A and C) .
They do a pretty good job of pounding the crap out of the whole map, but especially objective B. Assuming you managed to kill all the guys on the way and get all the way up to them, they are inside of a safe zone. Firing launchers from them at a distance does not work as the missiles lose their lock on every time. Each game these two easily go 20 kills with 0 deaths. EACH. Now, I'm not blaming these guys at all they're doing a great job finding out bugs like this, but I think this bug should be addressed. Firing artillery from a safe area should not be allowed as they cannot be killed. Also, these may not be the only two doing it, but they're the only ones I've ever seen do it, I assume it is repeatable by just anybody.
PS: Excuse me if this has been posted already because the bug is kind of obvious. |

i did the same thing shooting from a dropship from one end of the map to another taking out every turret on the enemy sides red zone on harvest line.
it's laughable how broken it is. |

The range might not be infinite. It's just that they're range is longer than the small section of map we're restricted to for testing purposes. |

I have been saying this since august, the main unfair advantage of all vehicles and drop ships is infinite ammo, they need a capacitor. |

I think sentinels were supposed to be the original response to this. They should really ammo limit since there isn't going to be a lot of sentinels that can blow HAV or drop ships that easily. |

I realize this is a "red" line issue, but this type post always opens the flood gates for everyone gamer who gets killed by a tank to toss in their two cents about how terrible the tank drivers are.
You act like we live in a safe zone every map and never leave, this is not the case... Death does a very good job of playing the angles and finding spots where he has a way out if he gets into trouble... he does not sit in a red zone the entire map. What you are seeing is someone who is very talented at any game he picks up, and he just happens to like driving HAV's since this is DUST and not COD. Vehicle war fare is something different that most shooters do not offer and it is a different experience than every other game out.
Look it says right in the new game intro <--- You will be killed, but hey you have clones.
I believe there is 100K posts about HAV's and all the people who have been killed by them.

A dancing shot gun fairy killed me, nerf the strafe speed so he can''t move because I can't figure out how to lead a target and back up.
People cried all last build HAV OP HAV OP, and CCP's response to make HAV's pointless, 1 shot kills pieces of **** and we all ran around getting sniped by 20 guys on the mountains, Yippie. If you love running around as infantry and don't want to be bothered by a HAV then play COD. I personally get bored of COD 3 days after i buy the same remake they put out every year.
The new crying game this build is.... wait for it.... Drop ships. They were useless every other build but this one they can be used for more then 5 seconds, and the're effective, so that has to be nerfed right?
HAV's can be killed by there level of equipment. (Proto vs Proto etc) This is a MMO, he has a prototype tank u should not be able to use your advanced and MLT gear and pown him, especially since he also very good at what he does.
Maglives, Kain Spero, Levidicous Knight and countless forge gunners can kill Deaths tank, so he has to play the angles and stay out of the wide open areas, or he lose his $2M tank.
He used the long range Missile turrets to get that distance, to give him more options. Those turrets are made to have long range and keep there damage.
Every game I play, I will hear the same things. What ever is effective needs to be nerfed so the average person can go on thinking that they can spend 2-3 hours a week at something and be amazing at it.
The fact of the matter is that once you cry enough, they will nerf tanks, again. Even though, plenty of skilled players can kill them just like the last build, because gaming companies need to cater to the so called "casual gamer". You cry OP all day, about range on missiles, unlimited ammo, Un-killable tanks.... but never stop to ask yourself, hey maybe that's not OP, maybe, just maybe, I am not as good at videos games as I thought.
Telling him to step out of the tank and use an AR so you can kill him, is just laughable. Hey, I know you put 100% of your SP into your tank and I put 100% of mine into my gun, so step out of the tank and use something you have 0 sp into and I have 4M into and see who is better? Ridiculously stupid argument.
Regardless of what I say here, the criers will cry. Look at Paren Tadec <-- he literally got groups together and was powning tanks last build (before the nerf), to prove to you all they weren't OP, and you were mostly just terrible and couldn't figure it out. Instead of saying hey, that guy and his group is doing it, most of you ignored it. So I assume this will continue to be the same.
but, hey what do I know, I am just a below average gamer when I step out of the tank and there should be an asterisk next to my name on the leader-board because non of my kills are legit.

Although I don't condone HAV's sitting in the red zone, the fact is that any competant player willing to spec anything other than AR's can kill tanks for very little investment. It's beyond a joke. I don't blame guys sitting in the red zone with their tanks tbh, what the whiners did to them last build was a joke. Snipers do the exact same thing and dropships use the redzone to kill swarms, they're all cheap tactics if you ask me.
You don't see the tank users crying about the idiots calling "get gun game" however, which basically equates to putting your points into AR's and damage mods meaning you nearly one shot everything. That's not gun game, it's as bad as tank spam for cheapness yet everyone does it and it's THE most popular thing in game, so nobody cries nerf as it's standard practice for "gun game".
The guys thinking they're good with an AR should be using militia AR's and mods if they think they're that good, but they don't so keep whining and "Get HAV game scrubs!" |

I have no issues with tanks and their drivers. If you're good, you're good, and Death is really good. I've shot his tank a few times with my 9K330 and have been killed by his tank more than I'd like to admit. But he's doing what he does and I'm doing what I do. Unfortunately, whenever I see tanks on the field, I usually can't get any support and most cover sucks when it comes to lolmissiles.
Redlining... I despise it, but when my squad just leaves me behind, I can't get any support from the rest of the team, and I die left and right by a corp full of pro players... I end up stuck somewhere behind the red line testing the range on my 9K330 or plinking with a militia sniper rifle, that I have no SP invested, in because to switch to militia assault just ends up feeding the other team kills.
I guess in the end, I'm saying that if you do something well, good job. You deserve praise. Doesn't mean I won't get frustrated and try to forge you on occasion if I see you though. |

Yea, I dunno what was going on there but I'm sure it was just hiding to recharge and whatnot. Both of those guys roll hard all over the map and kill me endlessly. It's cool though, eventually I won't be the only forge gunner on the map and you guys' tanks are gonna go boom.
There's a lot of garbage players in any game, especially ones like this that's still in development and is therefor stupid broken. But every time I've gone up against those guys they've been out in the field wrecking everything.
So to the OP, I wasn't there so I'm not saying you're wrong but I've always seen them out in the field being very good at what they do. Respect to both of those guys. |

I couldn't agree with you more +1, Last build after the tank nerf, I was still rolling around in a sagris raping face. But before the nerf dedicated AV could still pop tanks. It just took some teamwork. The problem is that people notice when a tank is raping but if there is a guy running around with an AR raping, people don't notice that for some reason

People really need to figure out that the Swarm you can put on your Assault Suit for less that 100k SP is doing nothing to tanks / dropships but make em run a bit...

I agree with slap26 As I put most of my sp in forge guns I been able to destroy any tank on the battlefield. I heard people ***** about forge guns not being good enough WELL GUESS WHAT! If the tank is shooting at letter B and you spawn there with your forge you will be killed by the tank and instead of spawning elsewhere where maybe you can get a better position on the tank you keep spawning on the letter and getting killed GUESS WHAT you than are a idiot! There are so many idiots bitching on the forums about Nerfing dropships, tanks missles railguns and Im sure they will nerf blasters soon too GUESS WHAT CCP what you had before worked great and offers something different than COD now your making a lot of things more for ground troops and worse for tanks and screwing over people who put all their points in tanks.
I liked taking on deathfromafar with his super missiles and anyone else with good missiles tanks. Now I rarely see any one with large missile turrets bc they suck.
Now its only railguns and blaster tanks I get to take on.
Stop listening CCP to people who ***** about how they are getting killed all the time as these people are useless idiots who suck balls
