If CCP really is serious about this, then this is awesome news. More time to test things, iron out bugs, fix lag out at least improve it, make sure that the potentially second most complex market in New Eden is stable and deep enough before launch, etc. To be honest I felt like the game was being rushed too much by Sony. This news is a good example of how much control and authority CCP has over DUST compared to Sony. |

PS: has CCP publicly confirmed this with a blog post or thread announcement? |

Fivetimes Infinity wrote:I'm not surprised. Development for the game has been very slow, and we've been plagued by some totally unacceptable bugs across multiple builds now. The frame rate, the hit detection, these are the kinds of things you simply cannot have in a modern console FPS that you expect people to play competitively. Maken Tosch wrote:PS: has CCP publicly confirmed this with a blog post or thread announcement? They were interviewed by a legitimate website and said it to them. If it were not correct, that's when they'd publicly say that it isn't correct. As it stand, there is no reason to doubt that this game won't be open beta till sometime 2013 and probably released in the spring or summer.
IGN is a legitimate website and they tend to say **** that are not true. My point is that I don't trust third-party sources. If there is a thread or blog posted directly by CCP about it, then I will believe it. Until then, I'm skeptical.
Dear CCP,
Is is true what Eurogamer is saying? |

There is a difference between making a game accessible and making a wannabe battlefield/call of duty game. Eve Online is quite accessible in many ways but you have to know where to look. There are players in Eve who have created characters and somehow managed to achieve earning billions of ISK a month through market trading alone inside just a single month or two. Then there are the players who focused everything in learning all about missions or piracy in a single month and are now making mad ISK through mission loot or from ransoming other players.
I hope this is what CCP meant by accessible. Allow players ample opportunities to prosper quickly but they must work for it and know where to look. |

They did mention mid 2013 as a possible release date, but as usual of CCP, they said it as if it's something that's subject to change. |
