Just a quick question from someone having a hard time finding info on this:
1.5 mil Isk to make your own corporation. Is that worth it right now? What are the benefits? Can you take on contracts yet?

I wouldn't suggest spending the ISK as it's hard to get a corp up and going unless you already have alot of friends who will definitely join your corp from the start. The main problem is most players jump on corps with the biggest rosters. Therefore, if you have only like half a dozen members to start with, expect it to stay that way. I've had my corp for almost a month and still only have 5 members. Therefore, you'd most likely be better off joining one of the existing 500 corps. As for me, I still have hopes I'll get a few more recruits from friends moving over from BF3. |

Alright... uh. So, can I take it from that that more people = more benefits?
I'm trying to understand what a corporation does in DUST 514 right now. I can worry about making a successful one later, but if possible, can you tell me what the benefits are?
Again, do you earn more ISK? Does it generate ISK? Is it something like a series of buffs?
Or can I assume that a corporation only allows you to take contracts to earn money, and that the more people you have, the more likely you are to get contracts? |

more ppl more benifits is right your members can make squad donations into the corp and CEO can distribute them to a member or use for corp battles so it works out when your having ISK problems. |

Awesome. How exactly do corp battles work, by the way? |

Corp A puts up a contract and Corp B accepts and they play and the winner gets the money.
If both corps put up a 1 mil ISK --- the winner gets 2 mil ISK (roughly) |

Right now the only benefit to having a corp is members can donate money and if one of your friends is the designated tank guy or whatever you can give that player some of or all of the donated money for tank expenses. Basically if you all get a custom chat up and running you have the same thing the corporations have but without the ability to transfer isk.
In the future it will most likely be quite beneficial to have a corp or to be in one. |

But if you're the one putting up the contract and if someone else accepts it and you win you get no prize, only your collateral back. Make sure you're the one accepting the contracts. |

Can you put up private contracts, or are they all public? |
