also if this is TL;DR for you, dont read it.
Tanks Need Buff, I don't care I see what everyone is complaining about. Yeah Forge Guns and Swarm launchers don't make it any easier, a tank with 6000 HP should not DIE in two to three shots.... specially packing 120 mm plates... (real life Abrams much?)
The only thing that should take out a tank in one hit should be an aerial strike thats how they do it irl...
I'm sick of earning enough to finally buy my 200k tank and have it be blown up cause I cant defend myself against missiles, where are Chaff and anti missile counter measures! WHY IS THIS THE FUTURE WITHOUT THAT, Tanks are USELESS without proper counter measures, with lock on and instantaneously lock on target missiles it doesn't help.
Why are AV guns so powerful? Why cant it take more than three shots to kill something? What is so wrong with being the king of the battlefield in a tank! Its a TANK its not an LAV its not supposed to die that FAST. Half of us cant even earn enough to buy one and buy the 900k skill price tag just to be screwed in the end when we get one...
Heavily armored and Poweful, These Vehicles are the support of the battlefield, support?! More like walking deathtraps! The starting selection is horrible, WHY must be buy our tank turrets, why cant we spec into a stock one like they have with the dropsuits, WHY am I yelling! Why must I get so angry, Dark why are you so angry its just a game, its just like how snipers suck cause they camp, adapt or die Dark, adap or die. OK! I adapted I fitted my tank with a good health setup... and ARMOR... :U
why is NONE of this COMING INTO PLAY.
I dont care if 6k health is not enough, its should be enough to last... more than two missle barrages, why are we in the future and our tanks are as flimsy as paper dolls, what if i want to give my squad support and the tank rolls in and everyone runs cause its a TANK. Why cant AV mines only take out tanks and Forge Guns and Missile Launchers Barely put a dent in them, why cant ir force people to stop playing unfairly and force people to get up close, lets see how many of you get close when CCP starts putting rear guns cause the turrets cant swivel around enough :U!
Now Onto the More Part, Yes its still tank oriented.
Ok, So at this point I dont really care if theres a billion threads about it, im gonna stuff it here again, and every time I make a tank post this is going to be included. I will copy and paste.
Ok, so CCP, I remember a while back watching the E3 Trailer and you had mecha, what happened?! Why are we not testing those by now! at this rate this game is going to take ten years to make! I understand your in different timezones and this isnt a cash cow of a game and its mostly funded by you guys, etc. Its why we buy AUR I get it, your not getting rich off of this so theres not much motivation to do the work, I got it.
Alrighty now onto the the actual thing I was going to say, CCP you need to split the tank into different parts, its plain and simple you have your driver, your gunner your two turret men and a scanner operator, yes I said scanner operator since we dont have radio men. I realize this is alot to code but it would give us who have a bit of trouble navigating the battlefield without getting picked off by snipers, forge guns, missle turrets, blaster turrets, redic AUR guns, and people getting backed by eve (cant fix all the problems, I got it)
But splitting the tank up to where the driver only controls where things would go would make things easier, sure you'd have less control over your Tank and sure you could get a skitty gunner or something and you would blow up. But making it so the driver only drives would help, that and with all the extra people doing extra work you could essentially make it more armoured. Brings up another point having to do with APC MBT's but I will get into that later on. Giving a gunner roll aka the main turret role would allow less stress on the driver and allow him to GTFO out wherever he is. Small arms turrets are already split up thats not an issue.
Ok onto my next subject, Understand we have Drop-ships. but adding in an APCMBT Tank would be nice. would just be a main battle tank like the ones we have now with a whole thing in the butt that looks like an APC. 7 troop capacity and even more armor cause of the added people with less turret damage, ETC. Oh and Faster too.
The Implementation of Tracked Artillery Would Be Nice too, such as howitzers, long and short range artillery, definitive roles in AA tanks and Supply Vehicles, So we dont have to carry nanohives around but they would be like a mobile nanohive but be very very weak but offering troops much needed relief at a moments notice, they would be super fast and unarmed, so people cant cheat they would only allow armor modules, PG modules and CPU modules.
that is all for now i will at more later but I am super tired and need to go to bed

i agree. that way the game can become it's true from. twisted metal with 50 point meat bags running around.
if you put even a single point in a infantry only proficiency you are wasting that point. |

i spec AV and i been in dropships being fired at.
vehicles take a ton of damage. they move quickly behind cover and let the missiles hit the mountain every time.
i have to wait for a tank pilot to be dumb enough to get out of an area he can't get out of quickly to allow 4 sets of rockets to hit him hoping that another set is coming from a dumb random teammate.
90% of the time the tanks will be in an area that has limited view there is absolutely no way to get to him without him seeing you and spamming his unlimited rockets forever.
the best way to take out a high level tank is getting in a dropship and blasting the crap out of it from over it's body. he ends up having to run away because he can't hit straight up. |

Food for thought Darkshadow, in real life, and m1 abrams or bradly fighting vehicle can be taken out by 1 to 2 RPG 27 hits. And all an RPG 27 is, is a more powerful version of the regular RPG7 rocket launcher. In real life, an m1 abrams can be taken out by properly made IED proximity explosives from beneath, or partially disabled if hitting the treads. Contrary to what you think, Tanks in real life are indeed not unstoppable killing machines. In this example, a single RPG27 rocket is designed to penetrate 750mm of armor. The even bigger RPG 28 can penetrate 1000mm of Armor. |

The more you post about this topic, the more you prove you have no clue.
You talk like you have experience from both sides, yet your posts prove otherwise. Instead of whining your precious swarms are broken try actually dealing with them being fired at you.
Swarms are broken beyond belief, fact. They're useless at chasing dropships, yet holy at hitting land based vehicles. The fact you can't admit this proves you haven't been on the other end of them. |

Still though wouldnt you agree that atleast give tanks a fighting chance would make people complain less, I remember someone telling me Sagatarius or whatever was dominating 16 man squads back in the day, which I think for the future since were in tiny little junky dropsuits designed to keep us alive on hostle planets and try to provide some sorta protection, would make sense. I mean you pay alot for tanks, why not get your monies worth? 900k price tag makes them expensive to spec into, at the rate that we earn money you'd have to pull five perfect matches to afford even one level 1.
But also, I think CCP should push out a fully complete game, and than focus on adding things. |

they do have a fighting chance. they move rather quickly and with all the blocking terrain they can hide pretty effectively. if you increase their resistances or health they have to be much much slower than they are now. |

i can't kill a vehicle that knows what they are doing, they move behind cover out of my path i can't hit them. they can eat damage for breakfast, one dropsuit can't take down a vehicle that knows where they are and where they can move to be safe. waiting for them to move out is one of the only ways to take them out, and that is a stretch. it takes one shot from any of their gunners to kill me but it takes a more than 4 sets of swarms to kill them.
i think it's sort of balanced at the time. i honestly don't think i should kill tanks by myself unless they decrease the cost of the vehicles to what they had 3-4 builds ago when militia tanks roamed free. if they are a proto tank with high resist modules, if i am the only AV on the field i can't kill it. give me 2 AV spec allies the tank spends half the time in the red zone repping or dead.
the reason i claimed knowing both ends is because i spend my time in a dropship. and manuvering around he only has 3600 and 1000 shield armor but it can eat 3 forge guns before finally taking the hint to leave. tanks have alot more health and can take alot more damage before thinking about taking off usually around their 25% shield mark in most cases.
one AV guy can't take down a single vehicle. when people lose their vehicles to AV grenades or militia swarms they assume it's only one guy. |
