PVE AGAINST NATIVE LIFE: I know we are getting PVE against rogue drones, but there is another option for PVE missions as well. We know there is life in New Eden, and fighting native life on planets would make for great PVE. Extraterrestrial encounters with life is one of the greatest and most exciting aspects in the genre of space scifi. I am not asking for little green men, humanoids, or anything with human-like intelligence, but just some animals adapted to their environments. Imagine fighting insect-like animals the size of of an elephant, or creatures similar to dinosaurs.
[HOW]: Option 1: You're hired to secure a location, or objective on a planet that happens to have life evolved on it. The mission site is full of hostile and predatory wildlife that you must fend off until the mission is complete. This could be problematic since our advanced weapons could probably 1-shot kill any animal, but extremely large dinosaur sized animals could justify taking more than 1 shot to kill, and smaller predators can be really fast and utilize cover in grass to evade being hit at all.
Option 2: When the "Gladiator Arena" E-sports modes comes to Dust 514, one of such modes could involve fighting vicious predatory animals in a colosseum much like gladiators of Rome fought lions for the entertainment of the masses. Other deathmatch style PVP battles can have some animals thrown into the mix. These animals can be genetically augmented to justify needing more than 1 shot to kill, or weapons we can use could be limited, and maybe we should be fighting without the protection of a dropsuit.
[WHY]: It would add even more variety to the game, and make the game generally feel more "complete"
inb4 no other life forms on EVE Life Life Life Life Life Life Life Life Life
I posted this idea before a long time ago in some big list thread, but it never got its own dedicated request thread. |

+1 It's a nice idea (may be a while before we see it though) and it has a reason to be ,you don't want your civs being murderd by the wildlife do ya, could also be training for corps to better hit moving targets and a quick and fun sp/isk grinder |

The NPC choice isn't just for rogue drones. New Eden is even more full of NPC pirates we could fight. Sanshas, Guristas etc. Crmiinals and thugs from all factions who are armored up and armed to the teeth, and want your biomass. . .

Well, yeah, but our weapons are insanely powerful to compensate for the gear we use. A regular human would drop in one shot, maybe 2 at the most.
Also, Fedo Horde Mode. Make it happen. |

They could have like 4 basic enemy types, and just use different models for them for them on different planets; if each enemy type has 4 models, that is 16 species already. I hope something like this gets added like a year or 2 from now. |

i agree, however i think that wildlife which poses a threat to a massive hyper-advanced space civilization would be pretty tough. Any animal in New Eden would probably have thick armor and need alot of punishment to go down. Also weaker animals might attack in swarms of dozens if not hundreds, making defense difficult. |

I like it I remember in Star Wars: Battlefront II, you're fighting through one planet (can't recall name) and then end up fighting droids and the Acklay, about 6 of them, that rip friend and foe apart. I think if some maps contained strong critters like this it'd really spice things up. We were talking the other day on comms about knowing your planet when the game goes live. Perhaps some planets could have certain populations of creatures in certain areas? So if you own the place and come up against mercs that have never visited it, you'll be at an advantage because you'll know the areas that these creatures are located, and where not to go and defend :P |

Me too, I've said in other post solely PVP gets old, and very boring to me. And know alot of people wanting PVE and Co-OP.
I'd like a mission were you hired to stop sansha, and have civilians in it. You have to save X amount of them before they are kidnapped. |

That's right they're back. Oh and I must mention that the objective should be to help colonize new planets via slaughtering hostile bee-hive-mentality aliens. Those are like the only aliens people are scared of.

One way I see making this work on the EVE side is to give "super hot spots" in the planet scans for planetary interactions, which grant much better pay out. All the pilot has to do is set a contract to capture said hot spot. The hot spots would reset at the end of each cycle. This would insure there are always contracts open and it would force some more interaction between DUST and EVE players. This is a good idea I most say. One way it could also work on the DUST side is sorta like king of the hill... you know how if you lift a rock off an ant farm, the ants swarm the immediate area... well what would a hive like species do if you dropped a PI Command Center on top of their hive? Both ants and bees would flip out. So EVE players could be forced to hire DUST mercs to defend their command centers and extractors long enough for them to set up. |

But opting to mine a "super hot spot" would have its risks. If you think about it, anything "attacking a creatures homes would be fought off by said creature. A swarm of ant like creatures could tear a tank apart AND the command center. The risk of choosing to mine the super hot spots would be that if the mercs fail, then the command center, extractor, space port, and so on would be lost. The EVE player chooses contract price based on the number of mercs he wants to deploy to defend his PI equipment and the EVE player can choose to set a collateral damage fee. |
