.) There are currently 5 Maps available this build (Ashland, Communication, Skim Junction, Line Harvest, and Manus Peak.) They all vary in size and amount of Null Cannon Instalations (the things you hack.) High resolution pics for 4 of the above maps can be found in the "Map Feedback" section of the forums.
.) I'm actually not sure about this.
.) Known issue.
.) Currently it's 16 Vs 16 but CCP has made it clear that they intend to have larger scale matches available in the future.
.) That's the point. Combat is slightly more tactical than run and gun. Since it's your first match i gather you were using Militia gear, which is the weakest of all available gear. The people you were shooting at (most likely) were using Shield/Armor extenders availble in the Market Place. If you upgrade to non-Militia weapons you may find you kill more often but i'd need to know your fit to determine that.
.) Skipping since it's not really a question.
.) It could be that or maybe you were falling/running but i don't use melee often so i'm not really sure about the bugs concerning it. It could be worth testing and reporting to CCP since the current melee is new.
.) The first Jeep, Baloch, is a FREE militia jeep. As such it is indeed pretty weak. They are only meant to be used for quick (hopefully uninterrupted) travel across larger maps.
.) I'm not exactly sure what your saying here but the "Killfeed" also shows the name of the people that join the opposite side and the side your on. So when a person joins the enemy it appears on your killfeed, and when you join your team it appears on your enemies killfeed.
.) The maps vary in size. Since the map had "4 hacking stations" I'm assuming you played on Line Harvest. Which is a medium Size map. Once you visit Manus Peak and some of the other large maps you'll be happy you have Vehicles. Also vehicles with Rockets can be great groud support even on small maps. Provided your enemy doesn't have Anti-Vehicle equipment.
.) The starmap is a representation of the EVE universe. Suppposedly, once the full game is out, the goal of a DUST merc will be to take and hold different Planets/Star Systems that you see there. Also Supposedly, each planet is supposed to have a different Map.
.) I just joined a Corp myself so i'm not too sure about how they work. I'm pretty sure though they don't work unless your in a Player Corp and not in one of the starting NPC corps. If you join a Corp run by a player, i'm sure you can ask your future CEO more questions.
.) Correct! There are many fun toys to use on the Marketplace. Everything from Pants to Guns to Drugs and Surgery.
.) That's currently one of the Balancing issues in the game. There is going to be a matchmaking system (supposedly) that will seperate new players from veterens so they don't get steamrolled somewhere down the line. As for now, my advice is to think about what you need for your suit. Survivabiltiy? Mobility? Stealth? Gun Damage? Anti-Vehicle Weaponry? Armor Regen? Ammo Regen? and look though the Modules and Equipment on the market to find out what you want to make your Merc play the way you want. And always.. |
