Hello everyone.
WIYRM is a corporation founded (and soon to be joined by) a half dozen EVE online players who have a casual interest in shooters, and a passion for all things EVE related. We are currently engaged in factional warfare on the Caldari side in EVE and hope to follow this trend in DUST514. Our patron corporation in EVE-online is the Wiyrkomi Honor Guard; a small but dedicated Facwar corporation.
As noted, we are casual, gamers, with a high objective based focus; we'd rather fight a war (regardless of outcome so long as we give it a damned good shot) than just pat each other on the back for being 'Pr0' if you catch my drift. We are looking to offer:
1. Weekend (Saturday 13:00 - 'Late' // Sunday to be discussed) game play, hoping to text faction warfare features and tactics
2. Mature banter on comms, we like a relaxed attitude to comms discipline, but keep it tight when necessary. Mature means 'respectful and friendly' not spinning out f*** and c*** every sentence.
3. Mutual support; we aren't the best, but we strive to be. Elitism will not be tolerated, but skill is valued.
4. Roleplay support (metagame, not on comms) for those interested. It isn't everyone's cuppa, but we have an established RP presence.
5. GMT timezone throughout the week is possible, but man cannot live on PS3 gaming alone :(
What we would like to see in prospective recruits:
1. Eager, friendly, mature gamers.
2. Happy to help and be helped.
3. Able to be a founding part of this corporation, and endure the small time it will take to get regular, full-sized team battles going.
4. Microphone/Headset (mandatory)
Definitely do not apply if:
1. You are focused on 'Pr0 gaming' instead of good times with potential friends
2. At this time you want to join an established corp; we are a start up and there are many fine established corps here, the likes of which we hope to be counted among in the near future. I just don't want to waste your time if you're looking for a quick fix.
3. You're not up for fighting for the State come game-launch
Well, that is all I have to say. Post your interest in the WHG FORUM THREAD (linked) to express your interest and we can go from there. I would like to ask that potential recruits tell us a little about themselves either using the application system in game, or here if they aren't shy about it - nothing personal, just a quick run down of what you're looking for in DUST, potential EVE experience and so on.
Good Hunting.
For the record, my eve character names are Aelisha and Solarienne. |

I would like to add that long-term visionaries are particularly welcome. Those who can appreciate the need for EVE-DUST cooperation are especially prized.
It is hoped that we will be able to start testing the Faction Warfare features of the beta soon, though additional training is obviously required before we can compete with the more established corporations on a game by game basis.
Realism, dedication and maturity. Bring these and you will go far.
Vehicle drivers and pilots are of course prized assets, as are logistics. AT this early stage in our development, the humble, capable infantryman with nothing but grit, guts and an Assault rifle can make all the difference, and we'd love for you to make that difference with our help! |

Bump to the top.
Starting to get interest here, thanks to those of you that have been mailing via eve online or who have posted on the WHG forums with your interest! |

Bumping for effect.
Pleasant chats and forum posts with a few of you prospective and new recruits - pleasantly surprised by the calibre and friendliness of the people I am meeting. Looking forwards to meeting more cool people as time goes on.
Remember, DUST and EVE are nothing without each other after this gets kicked off - regardless of the hype and statements to the contrary. It is our hope to be among those corporations that see dust marines as the equals of capsuleers, and foster a strong spirit of cooperation. Let's be greater than the sum of our parts! |

Another bump to the top.
As a note, corp subsidisation of vehicles is planned, so if you are a budding vehicle pilot, you can count on eve financial support upon release to keep your armoured behemoths running (so long as you're not just getting them popped every five seconds ;) ).
During the beta, I will attempt to get people to club together to fund the corporate vehicular stable, so watch this space for additional information for supported vehicle types. |

Bumpety bump.
Had a few games with a few newcomers - pretty fun over all, but it is telling that we need numbers. There seems to be an undercurrent of mature gamers who want a little more than 'phat kills' out of their game play - maybe we can help you out there?
We're not about being the best - we're about being the best fit for you. So if you have a love of gaming and teamwork, drop by our forums, get on our public teamspeak sometime and we can see about organising some instant battle squads and corporation matches to cut our teeth on.
Coming soon: TANKS TANKS TANKS. Treadhead forever. General Infantry are still the heroes of WIYRM however! |
