Hey, i bought one of those repair tools and for a whole match i was just reviving and healing people. My issue is that i did not get any points for repairing people. I think that's something that should get looked at. (although im sure you are lol)
Also when are you going to implement this? |

And I'll be specific: We need a better more permanent fix before next build
The above my not be 100% possible to to tech issues but the current version in both cases diminishes the value of testing and frankly the enjoyment of doing so as well.
- How do you balance for proper rate and cost of skill progression without the proper rate of progression in place first?
- How to player provide useful feedback on their experience with the character development system without access to the actual system?
- How do you account for the balance of a Heavy vs Assault vs Scout suits in a game with Logistics Repair when the Repair Tool languishes unused do to a lack of rewards (and those few who do use it fall behind the curve with gear and skills as their efforts provide no direct reward while increasing the rewards gained by others)?
I understand this is a beta and as such not everything can be expected in a fully working state, but it cannot be dismissed that the mechanics as they stand impact testing and feedback.

Incorrect about the cap, but correct about the repair tool. The skill cap was put into place to keep skills point accrual in line with Eve since both games share some of the same skills, like corporation management. This is to prevent unbalanced gameplay - for example setting up a corp in Dust because you can get the skills faster than in Eve. |

They do their own internal testing, and the people who repair because it helps their team and not because it's free points are still doing it. It really isn't a big issue.
Incidentally, they are probably more interested in the corp tournament for balance testing. If there are issues with their repair gun then it's likely they'd surface in those matches where people are in it to win. |

i think they could atleast cap the wp usage for reps. so some thing like WP=1/2 reps/sec. and then give more points for revives |

The flaw I see with this is medics will wait till people get killed and then review them to see them get killed again. It will be an endless cycle! |

Thats the thing, everyone else is technically helping out the team and they get points for it. Whereas the repair who is busy keeping everyone alive (and not killing the enemy) is getting nothing for their efforts. Which is why they should figure something out for that because there are many games out there where medics get points for healing ppl. |

My tactic is to revive someone and then switch to a repair tool to try and heal them up a little bit so that maybe they can get out of the way fast enough to survive. I mean i at least want to give em a chance at not having to waste a suit. |

There's no "If" when it comes to issues with the repair gun (even leaving the current WP wipe aside), there have been many threads on this subject for at least two builds and every time someone picks up Logi for the first time another thread shows up. I'm not going to attempt to rehash any of the multi page feedback threads here but the current system is flawed and even before the hotfix Logi players were pointing out how it benefited farmers more than actual Logi players.
Also I'm sure they have internal QA guys but that's not who I was referring too no is it the point. If they're paying attention to the feedback from beta testers then it's effecting incoming data because there's zero question that it's effecting in game performance and WP --> SP gain.
If they're not paying attention to the feedback on these forums, well....
Fun Fact: There are at least 3 separate possible WP awards for using the Repair Tool. Two of the three have been removed by the hotfix.
This means two things A) there's still a semi-safe way to farm if you exploit heavily (I refuse to use or disclose this method, but I will be e-mailing the details to CCP so they can squash it) B) even as a hotfix they could have left the WP in for repping Mercs and still moved to stop the "bumper cars" farming. |

If they gave me no points for killing people, I'd still kill people. If they gave me no points for hacking objectives, I'd still hack. If I play with a squad of heavies, I actually play Logi. But don't tell anyone.
Points should not be an incentive to do things. |

They removed it because CCP can't fix anything like a normal DEV would so they punish the players who used it as an actual repair tool.
Now nobody runs them and I'm left with resupplies if I want to rep my dropship. |

So then what should they be? The purpose of points is to be an intangible incentive towards doing X action, and sometimes the points do something, like EXP or SP.
Seriously though, if they aren't supposed to be an incentive in your eyes, then what do you think they should be? |

Very true, but the point isn't that Logis need an incentive to use the repair tool, it's that they aren't being rewarded for [since the hotfix] earning less WPs, and therefore falling behind in SP gains and gear while everyone else is getting ahead via killing and the like.
I myself run a repair tool when I run Logi, and I honestly don't need a lot of incentive to run it, but it sucks when I use all this effort towards repping people to see that I actually do worse and fall behind in SP [for that game, at least]. |

Really? You sure you aren't just pissed off because you can't park on a ledge in the red zone and rack up thousands of WP a match in total safety anymore?
As for no-one running them, catch me on your team sometime, step on the mic and ask for a repair - lots of logi suits pack a repair tool - not that it helps much when everyone just drives off faster than a logi suit can run, which is why I don't use my logi suit very often, if no one wants to slow down long enough to get healed, why should I be the one to sacrifice to help people who obviously don't want the help when it's there & used? (Lots of times the very same people who come to the forum to ***** about no-one repairing them) |
