First off, let me inform the non-EveOnline players about how Eve works in regards to logistics (at least recently): In Eve, when you blow up a ship, you get a killmail (email-like formatted log of your doings). The person who gets the final hit gets the killmail (Dust you get the full +50). Everyone else who shot at that ship gets an assist, and is placed on the killmail as aggressors (Dust you get the half +25 for assists).
However, in Eve-Online, if you are logistics (Repairing ships during battle), you also now get credit for combat during the fight, should the person(s) you are repairing kill someone.
This should exist in Dust, too. I can get points for Team Resupply, Team Spawn (Uplink), etc, but I don't get points for repairing someone's armor in battle. I can't tell you how many times I've kept a Heavy Armor suit alive while they destroy waves of enemies. It's a critical role, and I'm not feeling the love!

I understand the comparison but I respectfully disagree. If you are logistics you should get rewarded with logistic type stats, not simplify everything down into a kill statistic. There are a lot of other factors to consider like revives, hacks, repairs etc. that could be given close to or equal weight as a kill. Just my 2 cents. |

I thought I saw some where that the repair tool did give points at one time, and for whatever reason it's not working at the moment. But they're going to re-instate the points for it. (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I've replied to posts before where people have brought up the idea (a great one) that we should be able to hack enemy equipment laying around. I'd be all for it as a skill book trait and then having that tied into the hacking modules now that are present.
I'd wait on that one, as it's one of those "bottom of the list" items I would think given everything else that's going on during this build they're testing and or finding. |

They removed repair points this build because of people boosting to get more orbital strikes than you can shake a stick at. If they remove my points for killing people, I'll still kill people. I expect the same from logi. How about using that gun to get a kill assist, then repair people? Mass drivers are really good for this. |

An overhaul of the War Point system for Logi is badly needed. This has been the case for awhile now but due to the number of factors and issues involved the rework is slow in coming.
The Repair Tool does not give WP right now because of the non-Logi point farmers who were using it as part of an exploit. However the current pointless status of the Repper is temporary.
All of that being accounted for the major related issue with the current state of CODEX is that anyone's on the field focus is primarily (let alone purely) on being the best Logi they can be will gain fewer WP and as a result less SP and thus lag behind the progression curve this build. This decreases the quality of testing data by artificially limiting the development of Logi on the field.
Tony, with respect, you're a top flight player but your statement in this context is in error. If WP were only for bragging rights and did not define SP gain you'd be spot on but as it stands this situation is more like removing points for killing from all guns except the Pistol and SMG. Sure there are plenty of people who would still stand up and properly fill their role on the field (as many Logi are doing right now) but over the course of time they will be at an ever growing disadvantage.

They should also track assists as an individual stat and perhaps create an assist/death ratio as well so that people can see the true value of us support players.
Edit- It would also be nice if damage dealt was taken into account when rewarding points for assists since many times leechers will swoop in the final second and take a well earned kill and receive the lion's share of the points. But i can live without this just recognize my assists as something beyond simple WP earned let people know that i am more than my KDR. |

Obviously you have not played EVE as this has been a requested feature for 8 years and CCP still hasnt implemented it.
In fact many eve players feel shafted since Dust has gotten the logi love already and they still wait.
