I climb those ladders so damn slow...you would think a super-soldier in a fancy dropsuit could do better than that.
EDIT: We also need a new piece of equipment, the band-aid, so we can patch ourselves up after we trip on the rough terrain, however, you can reduce your chances of getting a boo boo if you skill up in anti-toe stubbing. While we're at it, I want the Three Stooges defense skill, so I can defend against being poked in the eye by Nova Knives. |

Well when a super soldier looses half or more of a shield HP for dropping less than 1ft on a hill cause he stubbed his toe I'm not surprised they can't climb ladders quickly...
Maybe they're not super soldiers or even clones but the undesireables of the universe sent to their deaths being controlled by the universe's elite members... one dies just send in another bum... |

So what you're saying is we also need an anti-toe stubbing skill. |

A ladder skill would be nice, but would need good bonus to be trained vs other stuff. Maybe 10-20% more speed per level? Also grabbing ladder by walking into it would be nice, this would also allow jumping onto ladder from something tall near ladder. Boarderlands 2 did this on same engine, seems to work a little better. Small issue though. |

I think you may have taken this a little too seriously. I can't think of a single person that would actually spend skill points on a ladder climbing skill. |

Yes, it is a great skill that people practice, this "climbing ladders" business.
You climb slowly to make climbing ladders more of a thing. You're vulnerable while climbing and such, and that makes them more interesting. |

Very simple solution: climbing speed needs to work the same way as movement speed. If you have high movement speed, you'll fly up the ladder. Meanwhile, that heavy with a few stacks of prototype armor will need to start climbing once the game starts to get up in time to kill someone before the game ends. |

ladder climbing does in fact suck, however as a sniper I do enjoy the easy kill. |
