That's a generic release date utilized when a game is supposed to release a certain year or quarter when there is no official date. Also the 31st isn't a tuesday so there is a very low likelihood of this being an 'official' release date... |

Certainly looks like a release date to me. I'd like it to be just a little sooner though, before Christmas. Say December 21? |

I had heard the open beta was supposed to be in dec, and final release(called launch) next summer.
So, I figure that is when the beta goes open and nda lift will be announced. |

Unless CCP makes an official announcement, don't listen to the other sources. Not even Sony or ign. CCP is the final authority in this. Remember that. |

I think the product will either launch in the next 3-4 weeks or it will not launch until mid of 2013. |

Well honestly there's no telling. IMO I don't think CCP wants to release yet, but on the other side of things with every article I've read related to Dust that involves Sony, it looks like Sony is pressuring for an earlier release.
So you have CCP wanting to make a great console MMOFPSRPG and you have Sony wanting them to hurry up and release it, so I'll let them duke it out while I continue to report bugs/glitches and stop trying to anticipate.
I don't think it's ready for a full release and even though it is F2P releasing too soon could still hurt it because alot of players may never come back to it. On the other side I also know that even after a "full release" CCP will continue to improve on the game so it doesn't bother me either way.
We might as well consider open beta as the full release though because with open beta anyone can join the fight and it's F2P anyway so honestly what's the difference? |

Agreed. Perhaps this is why CCP is labeling the next builds open beta rather than full release so that players can at least be reminded in some way that they are playing a work in progress. |

Because CCP is the only one making the game. Sony is merely providing the network service and has no authority as to when CCP can submit the finished product for approval. Sony can try to pressure CCP to hurry up, but if CCP says it's not ready after all this hype then Sony will be the one to take the blame from dissatisfied customers. |

Also the game is already making money for CCP and Sony so they shouldn't rush at all and take their time to deliver the best final product possible |

Look, either it will release on Dec. 31st or it will release on some other day. SImple as that. |

I would have to disagree simply because your still going to be facing a character wipe before full release. Every thing in Beta will get a wipe before full release. |

thing about release dates. they can be pushed back as many times as needed. which is good i rather have the game be a polished to near perfection than release a buggy glichy crap. |

I agree. Dust ist far from ready. There's tons of bugs, issues and nothing really seems to be completed. Just look at the number of topics appearing in this forum.
However: If they in fact release this game in 2012 it will be a total failure and since eve online and dust are linked eve will suffer too. They way I see it CCP shouldn't release this game before July 2013 |
