I've just been watching the somewhat infamous PDIGGY22 video and noticed that generally he will not move his crosshairs once in combat. It looks as though he moves left and right and then forwards or backwards depending on what his target is doing.
I am a complete novice at this game and ANY FPS and will generally try to strafe left and right, but as I do so, I tend to move my mouse around to compensate for my strafing.
Am I doing it wrong? Is the general consensus that you bounce left and right, but try to ensure that your target remains in the centre of the screen?
In the first 5 minutes of the video I noticed that he only moved the mouse if his target was making a dash for somewhere and strafing wasn't going to keep him in the centre.
Other than a single game of doom some 15 years ago, this is the first time I've played an FPS. So anyt tips on how to play are welcomed along side an answer to the above.
Honestly, other than saying shoot when your crosshairs are over the target, any tips are welcome.

Jax
I'm left handed. The right stick is my enemy. |

it's all about the Dropsuit setup. Know your enemy first. Scan them first. If they're using MLT, then go for the kill. Most people uses stack of shields, and you need to know that Flux grenades takes their shields out and I believe it prevents them from regenerating for a certain time. If they stack up Armor, they're going to slow and easy target because they're going to have a hard time strafing.
Know your enemy's weapon. If they're using a shotgun, try shooting them while walking away. Shotgun users are like Bulls. They'll try to get close to you as possible for that one hit kill. The farther they are, the less damage or chances that they will get to you. Facing an HMG user, don't strafe left and right for a kill because most HMG users are heavy suits. Go for one direction only while shooting and going for a cover.
Movement Speed is the key. Chances are that you're going to survive more often. Why do you think most people here like to increase strafing speed? |
