Excuse my ignorance but do we know whose turret skills determine the bonus damage on turrets? I realize you need the skills trained to be able to fit the turrets, but does that give any gunner who jumps in the seat the bonus damage or do they need to have the skills trained themselves? |

Nope, I wondered this. I know for vehicle HP it is determined by who calls the vehicle in, so I GUESS it's the same in this case. |

The bonus is based off of who called the vehicle in I believe. CCP (or someone with a link) could feel free to correct me on this however. |

I always assumed it depended on the Gunners pesonal Turret skill but good question? If it does work the other way that'll be interesting since technically the turret belongs to the one that purchased it and has it fitted to their Dropship/LAV/HAV.
Can anyone offer confirmation? CCP? |

I believe for the small turrets in LAV's, HAV's, and Drop ships, the owners skill decides what can be equipped, the gunners skill decides damage. So when it comes to flying a vehicle it's better to have an actual squad where you know who has what skill. Otherwise you get random gunner who may not have turrets trained.
Some observations though, before training turret skills, I use to constantly get stray shots during movement. After training skill to 4 or 5 I'm quite a bit more accurate and seem to hit harder than I had previously. |

I think it is based on who is driving or flying. call in an lav look at the stats then get in and see the change. |

I believe this was address by a dev somewhere in feedback. Currently drivers skills determine HP (look at the health of your vehicle before u get in, then get it and it goes up, then get out or switch position and it goes back down) also I think current mechanics have the drivers skills determine all damage buffs but deb's are working on making gunner skills apply the buff instead (its in feedback somewhere ill edit with a link if I find it) |

No, the skill is separate from Infantry and Vehicles. |

It's a passive skill bonus. So the passive belongs to the gunner. The active side of the skill goes to pilot (or fitter) he can fit better turrets. |

I've heard the damage bonus comes from the pilot, and I've heard they come from the gunner.
Does anyone have a link to a definitive statement from the Devs? Or would a Dev care to clarify this for us?
Also, does the Marauder skill apply to small missile turrets on Caldari dropships? If so, does it matter if the ship is Caldari or if the operator was Caldari, or the pilot was Caldari, or perhaps the person who called it in was Caldari? It makes a huge difference.
The prerequisites are Engineering and Energy Grid Upgrades so it would logically be the person who fit it in the first place, but I know not to make assumptions.
Going by the titles on the market I'm guessing that the Marauder skill applies only to the proto HAV's. |
