Will there be an ISK EVE transfer cap post release? I'm under the presumption that there won't be since the tourney is giving $250K ISK that's replenished each wipe.
I'm just worried that the ingame ISK grind will be worthless cause everyone will have $1 trillion ISK transferred from EVE. And the thrill of playing smart and making calculated choices will be replaced by recklessness. It will turn many people off and the game will lose some of its intrigue |

This is going to be the difference on high/low/null/wh , totally diffrent rules on this, its up to everyone to choose.
I think Dust will be very intrigue to play anyway, and do not forget missions (pve) its going to be great.
What are you saying? I can run my type II dropsuits on earned ISK. People don't need ISK transfers to run their suits.
I can understand that null sec will be different but Dust isn't going null sec for a while. For release....all we'll have is factional warfare |

But that's in null sec, where I understand that anything goes and there are no rules. We're not in null sec and won't be when dust is released.
But listen, do you understand the issue at hand where earning ISK in game will be meaningless? And the fact that ccp is trying to make it easier for casuals but allowing guys to use proto everything in every game without regard? |

And the fact that ccp is trying to make it easier for casuals but allowing guys to use proto everything in every game without regard? Let me step in and interrupt you two. Again, it depends on the state of the market. The market will effect Dust mercs regardless of where you are. In the mean time CCP said they are still trying to figure out how to balance out the ISK flow between the two games so that the Dust market and Eve market won't be out of whack. In regards to what you said about CCP allowing guys use proto everything without regard, that is not true at all. CCP would like to see people use proto everything but they also want the players to suffer the pain of losing such expensive equipment. Again, the market will play a role in this once players are able to gain control over the manufacturing of said items and thus affect the prices. Speculators and market traders who earn ISK without so much as firing a single bullet will also effect the prices of said items one day. It might not happen like this until may early or later 2013, but it will happen. Once it does, your concerns will be no more. Until then, I see your point and you have a valid reason to worry. But you have to remember that this beta is incomplete and haven't seen the full features yet and probably won't until they are ready.
Yeah, but if there is no cap on ISK transfer then players will never suffer the pain. You have guys like Cerebral boasting about earning 1.5 trillion a week!
As long as there isn't a cap, players will never "suffer the pain". Especially when they'll be getting gear cheap from their corps manufacturing the gear in house |

Mister Hunt wrote:What is the difference then of large corps being able to do free ship replacement in Eve? Should we shut that down too since the player didn't "suffer the pain"? You don't know what the pricing of items will be like, not even the NPC prices, as they are not set in stone yet. You do not know how easy it will be to make ISK shooting drones will be. The limiting factor in Eve nor Dust is NOT ISK, ISK is easy to come by in both games. The limiting factor is SP. And it doesn't matter how much ISK you have here or in Eve, it doesn't make your SP come any faster (boosters I'm not counting as that is RL money, not ISK that gets those).
At some point, you'll have the sp you'll need to get stuff done. After that, it'll all be out ISK. And if the current prices of gear is not at all reflective of what the prices will be then we'll wait and see what happens. |
