Better yet, let us build our own training ground and firing range.
Allow us to place targets and objectives. This will give our assault/heavy/logi guys a chance to work.
Also allows the snipers to ID targets and practice ranges, to have the targets move and pop up/down would be great.
Heck charge the corp ISK to build a facility and then let them charge a fee for others to use it. |

This.
Make the training grounds cost ISK and/or AUR to have and maintain, make them actually exist in the EVE universe, requiring access a planet to set up. I could even envision them becoming real battlegrounds in some cases as the planet the training ground is on becomes the actual frontlines and the training ground a warzone. |

okok! hear me out, what if the training ground was a giant sandbox area and there were players that could go and drive around but no one could shoot each other, that way it was like a social driving area where people could test out their weapons and things :O yanno kinda like the places in PsN Home, but where you can test out your tanks guns and things and people are just not able to be hit or when you hit then you just kinda push them outta the way.
That way all the newbie people could go and get used to dust in a safe friendly enviorment and you can run around and just get used to everything. :O

That would fall under my idea of having the Corps purchase/build one and from there we control the settings.
By allowing only the corps to build one it serves a purpose for ISK. IF the new players who had no corp wanted to use it, they could purchase sim time, or join a corp.
Each corp could set the sim rates, etc....
Give the tools to the corps, and let them run them, this also creates a market as well. |

@DarkShadowFox
Eve Online has something similar. They have a few star systems that are called starter systems or something like that. The restrictions are as follows:
1. No pvp within this system. 2. No can flipping within this system.* 3. No scamming of any sort within this system. 4. No harrassing.
* - Can flipping in Eve Online is when a thief takes a can of ore floating in space that belongs to another player that's mining and places the ore into another can in the same spot so at to trick the miner into engaging and thus turn the aggression mechanic in the thief's favor. A mining ship jettisons ore into a container because their cargo hold is too small to hold the ore they are wanting to harvest. They later pick up the containers with a hauler. The risk is that the container can be can flipped or just stolen.
The biggest restriction with these starter systems is that they are few and far in between in the seemingly endless sea of harsh star systems and these starter system are not profitable in any way and thus eventually forces the newbie to get out of those systems and venture out into the harsh universe we come to know as New Eden. I believe there is about 5-7 of them out of thousands of star systems (more if you count null-sec).
The point of these systems is to help the newcomer get his bearings and have a basic understanding of New Eden before venturing out into the dangerous world. Eventually their own selfish desires will drive them out of these starter systems. |

Here me out, I think CCP have gone the wrong way about making the fps. A lot of people are wishing it to be more 'realistic' I know it's space but real as in the combat not being so fast but more tactical. An easy way of sorting this out without having to re build everything is buy adding quick commands, making it much easier to say attack here or move up 50metres and rewarding the squad for doing so. It will keep the squad working and will make having a good squad leader vital for victory over the other team. |

I second this. This would be a superb way to do it. CCP has talked about making "held territory" customizable like this (unless that's changed... has it changed?!), so why not have special training grounds in held territory to do the same? And for corps that don't have their own planetary holdings... just some sort of static, non-customizable training ground.... maybe a room on the War Barge? |

Well if no one knew, there will be a co-op mode for the game then you can sort out your tactics there. And mass drivers do need a tutorial, though I havent touched one yet. I think it would be good to have sort of a corp training camp, as most of you say. But why put hard earned ISK into it???? |

this would be a cool idea, but you need to look at the programming and resources needed by the PS3 and the Computer to be able to do this. If every corp had their own training ground that they could build, it would have to come in the form of a lvl editor. This would have to be something that is an extra download. ontop of that, you would have to think about the resources to place them on planets. This will comsume alot of data space on CCP servers ( its already something like a gig a map on the PS3). then a person would have to download that map to beable to play it. that is for one map. now imgine 100,000 of these lvls. it would stress the system in my opinion. Eve itself is a lot of data for the servers to handle and now think of your PS3 having to load all of that plus try to keep up with everything else, i would think that it would crash. If it could be done, that would be a great idea though. |

Eve online has something similar, basically test servers. Pilots can log into them and play with new builds, new equipment, train new tactics for tournaments or pvp with their buddies with out the risk of wasting their hard earned assets and isk on the main server, or of course, being ganked by other players. I'm fairly certain I heard ccp mention they had something similar planned for the Dust community during the Fanfest. |
