Alright after some thought and limited knowledge of what's going on behind the scenes I need to ask and maybe get a CONSTRUCTIVE conversation going about the skill point cap.
So this is Free to Play, I get that. You make money by having players buy Aurum.
1) 7 day booster is the top of the market list atm. 2) We have a 500k sp cap? (am I correct) 3) It has been said to have everything unlocked it'll take +/- 7 years.
Here's what I'm having trouble with. A 500k sp (for this argument) and a 7 day booster pack. That burns through the SP way, WAY too fast. Which means if you burn through it in the first 3 days (wed/thur/fri) Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues you don't earn squat. Which then leaves you asking ..."Why play weekends?" or "Why play during the week?" because I'll have burned up all of my SP and won't earn anything and my booster will be wasted.
Which then means FAR less money will be spent to buy AUR if there's no need for a booster. Which means this game will not return a profit that was expected.
I've seen posts by DEV's and whatnot stating they're still trying to come up with a fair balance. Seeing as there are a few good minds on these forums, how about we start brainstorming and helping them out?
Here's some things I've come up with in a short time...
1) SP Cap to 500k reg skill points SP Cap for booster at 500k sp This one would require the game showing what you WOULD have earned with the reg (but actually get a % because you're at the cap and then taking that total of REG sp and then using the booster cap for it to calculate.) So you're not using a booster on 100sp when you earned 1,000 sp in that game. Make sense? (it does in my little mind)
2) SP cap to 750k total (booster + reg).
3) 1M sp cap to total (booster + reg).
4) Lower booster AUR price because I won't waste my AUR on a 7 day when I'll burn through it in 4 days.
Please keep this constructive AND sensible. Bear in mind that the profitability of the game depends on AUR, and therefore if things are too cheap no one will buy them and if they're too expensive no one will buy and if they're not worth it, no one will buy.
I thought I'd beat the horse a little more with this.

I'm not sure what the SP cap is but, I think that a daily SP cap is more appropriate. I believe having it for a week will be too discouraging for daily players as well as weekly players. |
