Let's say you basically get a blank suit with no stats that you buy particular modules like the subsystems in Eve ( about 3 or 4 one for defense, offense, movement, and pg/cpu) these suits could have higher base hp and be a lot more modular than regular suits. As on par with it's Eve counterpart, it could have a penalty for dying in it and could be unchangeable once deployed and have a sp deduction for deaths in the suit.
Any thoughts? |

It would be cool. It would also be pain to balance, would be a good main feature of future expansion. Probably to complicated to do right away though. |

This seems like a terrible idea so once we deploy in it we can't change to another fit if the situation requires it and i really don't think people would be keen on losing SP if they die.
I am all for a higher level then proto but keep the same penalty as the other suits to were if u die u lose1 of everything. |

There has to be some kind of penalty for them, this way it's a bit like calling in a vehicle |

The way u made them out to me it looks like something akin to a berserker so i say allow innate virus in the suits causing them to lose a small amount of hp every couple of seconds allowing them to have alot of power and hp but not be left alone for long periods of time with out the aid of a logi to heal them. |

It makes no sense for a specific suit to have a penalty like that as the customized parts would be the same as those found in the current suits except better made and more specialized |

True but it is built into the suit not that parts that are equipped on to it. The suits themselves have the flaw not the parts. |

I see where you're getting that idea from Vermaak, but I'm not sure it would fit in here as well as it does in EVE. From what I've been able to piece together the mental link between user and suit is either one way or non existent. When you hack an objective you actually pull out that wrist keypad thing and type on it. So from that I don't think there's any link between the mind of the user and the suit. I think it functions similar to modern versions of an exoskeleton where it simply responds to the user's movements. So losing SP when you die wouldn't fit in with the game's lore like it does in EVE.
@Raze galder You'd be able to change your fit, just not the subsystems. I think Vermaak and I are on the same page there, anyway. A certain subsystem would give you say 2 low slots and faster shield recharge and another one would give you 3 low slots and armor resistance or increased powergrid. Those would be fairly expensive and destroyed upon removal. You could still swap out modules just like normal.
I think it's a really great idea. But I think it's a bit much for now and should be added much later on once what we've got now gets sorted out. But still an interesting topic for discussion and would really add a new dimension to the game. |
