Scurvy Granger wrote: What is your definition of top tier teams? Honestly this part is quite frustrating, if you want to argue that you think you sent in the tourney application before others and want timestamps etc. then argue that. But claiming that your corp is the best and that's why YOU should be in is just plain wrong. Especially when the rules were first come first served.
In Zion as a whole we don't have the best overall average, but we have players as good as any others just like other corps. I'm sure this is the case for many other corps too, so before you claim to be part of the elite wait until after you face the best of each.
The REAL tourney is going on everyday, you win some, you lose some and learn from it. Some top tier teams made it, and others did not. It will be fun playing against those in the tourney, and it will be fun playing against the others either in corp battles or in future tourneys.
I'm inclined to agree Scurvy that Tritan cannot call itself a 'Top Tier Team' right now as there have not been enough proving grounds for such titles for ANYONE.
But that is part of the point also. This Testers Tournament IS somewhat of a proving ground. People can harp on saying that this Tourney doesn't matter, that it's just a Beta Tourney, but I will bet those that get in the Top 4 spots will always refer back to it when put against the wall and say: "remember when we beat your kitten in the first tourney?"
I don't think ANY Corps in the Tourney have ANY less right to be there, congratulations to them for that. But what I do believe is that CCP have some SERIOUS ground to make up since "The First 16" just got the rug pulled out from it. I have no idea whether we made the first 8 or not, but I'm sure as hell we made the first 16. It's like a kick in the guts. And it is far worse when some trolls try to minimize the fact that we, just as much as any other non-Tourney participant, didn't make it by saying "Go whine somewhere else, bro". Of course we are gonna whine! |

P.S UMADBRO ?
Yeah, kind of easy to say that when you got in. Poor form DD. |

Stinker Butt wrote:I would guess that the teams chosen had less to do with being first, but more to do with matching US players to EU players. It seems the only logical reason for wanting so much information up front. I really wouldn't blame them for doing it that way, to be fair and keep things somewhat interesting for both sides.
That being said, this is only the first test. Unless it goes perfectly flawless (which is very unlikely) there will certainly be more. And if CCP are wise, they will choose different corps next time.
Very True. I actually agree with the decision. But CCP should have made this decision clear when they first announced registration open. |
