the headset with the dongle, lol not dingle berry. is not bluetooth, it is regular 2.4Ghz frequency. also what cordless phones, wireless routers, microwaves all seem to run on.
i have issues with my sony stereo headset, that uses the dongle. i use my bluetooth and do not have issues. all of my ps3 are wired and have not had issues with multiple wireless (bluetooth) headsets being used.
i dont really play dust wireless but i have before and only my Sony Stereo (with dongle) has issues, even when wired.
if you are having issues with your stereo headset you can see this: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=27747
GL
edit: btw my headset issues are with Dust only as well. my sony bluetooth mic works fine but not my sony stereo headset |

We have tested and tested this. Basically, when both of us are on DUST in kills comms for us and anyone in our squad (player made or not). With our mics on or off, it doesn't matter. Basically when you have 2 systems in the same house on DUST it kills comms.
I don't know what to do. which is odd because i have two playstations and use headsets on each without problem... so f'n weird Good Luck on the issue still as it seems hopeless now.. |

If you see a pattern, it might point to your router not being able to handle the NAT routing properly. See if you can tap off before the router or try switching to a different router. If it happens with different routers, it points to a problem with the game not seeing different consoles behind a single IP. i did mention trying a different router before as well also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation address translation not access table.
from your ps3 if you do a network test it will reveal a NAT Type. there are 3:
Type 1: The PS3 is sitting directly on the Internet with a public IP address. This setup doesnGÇÖt require NAT or inbound port forwarding and is used in scenarios where the PS3 is the only device wanting to use the Internet connection. This isnGÇÖt that common as most users share their Internet connection with other devices in their home.
Type 2: This is the most common and ideal type where the PS3 is sitting behind a RG that is performing NAT. The PS3 will have a private IP address which is translated to a private or public IP address by the RG.
Type 3: This usually implies you have a problem in the way the PS3 is accessing the Internet. This may be caused by a firewall or port restrictions. This isnGÇÖt ideal and will result in a sub-optimal gaming experience.

if you do have Type 3 then you're SOL |

My version of the issue is occurring on a PS3 that reads as Type 2 as per the above post. Also UPnP is disabled (reads as N/A on the PS3 network test). try to enable UPnP on your router and reboot it after enabled, verify its still enabled |
