Here's what I'd do, take the time and give us ALL the information and or e-mail it to DUST.
Sounds like it's a networking the VoiP issue you're dealing with and if you're new to networking, it would be better to have them walk you through it.
Are you running BOTH PS3's at the same time? Both wired? 1 wired 1 wireless? etc...
Those are things we need to know in order to direct you properly.
But it almost sounds like you need to open some ports and put your PS3's in the DMZ. |

Okay I'm ever more curious now....
I know we may not solve this (then again we may) but I'm still thinking it's a wireless port issue for VoiP. Yes...VoiP is a pain in the kitten because of pipe that is needed to run it, and I have limited VoiP networking experience...BUT...hell this is how you learn :)
So if y'all do have the time, what model router / headset / etc...are you using? Go to speedtest.net and test your speed 5 x's and pull an avg and post them as well?
Specific details on the equipment would be greatly appreciated.
I know other games work fine, but also realize all games have their own dedicated porting. Which is why you're always seeing some players with issues and some without.
(if that's too much to ask I'll bugger off, but I'm really interested now)
I run a wired 7.1 Triton. Never wanted to mess with the wireless because of the issues and never run my consoles on wireless because of the issues. Which as me wanting to do some self teaching.

Okay, I have a Belkin N+ wireless router model # F5D8235-4V1 My speed test results are 24.87 Download and 3.62 Upload. This was done on my wireless computer. My bluetooth head set is a Logitech Cordless Vantage headset for the PS3. The other one is the Sony 7.1 wireless headset for the PS3. You know, the one with the dingle berry (dongle), Lol. You know, one other thing I didn't mention is when my wife gets on DUST and joins our squad, she kills comms for the whole squad not just for her and I. Well that's all the info I know what to get. Let me know if you have any ideas. I love problems like this but I do enough of it at work and when I get home I just want to game. LOL. Not really, I mean I do but I barely have anytime to game as it is. Lol. Thanks
lol same here man, but this will give me something to do when I don't want to work on my own stuff at work.
Okay so what I've found so far, there are a LOT of VoiP issues with the Belkin, a LOT!
What's your MTU set at? If it's not 1500, try setting it to that first and see what you get.
EDIT: I can't help it, but you have the PS3's in the DMZ right? Or are you just running open ports for the VoiP? Or nothing at all and straight shooter whatever the Belkin gives you? |

I'm taking a stab here...but ever since they merged EVE/DUST again we're seeing problems with the market and VoiP. So it could be an issue with their server cluster and merging the VoiP across them and the platforms.
Would be interesting to see where this issue is located, as I still believe it's on their server side.
Also good to see everyone pitching in and trying to help with this as well. |

Maffia- Thug wrote:Quick question,
Could my UPnP being disabled have anything to do with this issue...
Reason why I ask is because I have hooked up my wife's ps3 hard wired to the router and I am still having the same issue. It's really wierd. Now, she can be on and in a squad. When I connect to the DUST servers with or without a mic, she loses comms. I quit DUST and she gets comms back. I have no idea whats going on.
You know what...was talking to a guy the other day who had mic issues...and here's what he did...
Look for any other devices you may have installed on the PS3. He had an old bluetooth device installed on his pc and when he uninstalled it he no longer had mic issues.
So there could be a driver conflict on the PS3 with devices. I'd check that out and uninstall IF you have anything left over.
You know as well as I do there are things we cannot explain, so why this worked for him and it may not for others...not sure. But it's worth a shot. |

Well...then try this as this is my last effort, it's growing more and more apparent there's VoiP issues that CCP needs to work out.
1) PS3's are static IP's and set up in the DMZ
or
2) PS3's are static IP's and port forwarding is set for each IP to the listed ports by CCP. Also make sure your MTU is high enough since VoiP travels differently over the networks.
After that, sorry couldn't help out anymore.
