I used to scour the battlefield looking for the wounded and dying, doling out second chances to dying souls inches from death... Until one day the mighty hammer of the CCP gods crippled my right arm (read: repair tool) and said unto me "Due to the sins of thine brethren, thou art punished and made lame. Cry unto the world of the woes thine WARRIORS brethren have cause to fall upon thy shoulders and rue the day they they teamed up to ruin the life of all logistics players!" Since that day I have struggled along repairing sparingly and trying to make up for lost progression with what useful tools remained available to one such as I.
I am no front line fighter, I am no 20/0 beast of the battlefield, I am but a lowly and poor soul who eeks out a living mainly from the kind souls who are courteous enough to use my nanohives, droplinks and hacks (which I rarely get wearing the second slowest suit in the game), and from helping out the occasional downed ally who requests my assistance. I am a crippled shadow of my former self without the growth help of my right arm.
I used to have a chance to be top of my teams scorboard on the merit of my helpful nature, being an awesome medic was just as rewarding as being an awesome defense for my team. Now I can only reach such a position when I play with a team that has a hard time dealing with the enemy and has no choice but to either spawn in at my droplinks or risk randomly spawning in front of an enemy.
I am going to have to try to put points into other areas late in the build now I suppose, and it is going to be painful to try to keep up with others who are far better specialized for combat than I am, but without any gain from my repair tool I feel I have little choice. If you see me on the battle field, look not for me to heal you any longer. I am through with it. If I am called upon by my corp to battle for them, I will use it for the good of STB even though it will cause me to lag in my score, but outside of that I will no longer be full Logi-support. If the great gods of CCP deem that I am worthy of having my right arm back I will come back with a vengeance to aid my brothers in arms, until then thank you for reading. |

Rephrase? Ok. It's been said plenty, I was just wanting to write it in an entertaining way. (read: entertaining to me =P)
Rephrased: Fix the f*cking repair tool so medic-logistics players can have proper skill progression again.

But I agree wholeheartededly, without the earned points from repping, the rep tools are pretty much useless in comparison to other equipment. Hope CCP fixes this issue soon...I miss actually having a reason to rep pubbies.
Ima Leet wrote:was an entertaining read. i agree that i think they could have said no points for rep'n vehicles but still get points for rep'n people. they say this had to be a simple fix without a patch so i think this should've been do-able.
also, think of it this way. since you're going to be trying out front line, it'll make you a better medic in the end. no more rez'n people in front of fire only to die again immediately. you will be working on killing and should hopefully be able to clear enemies before rez'n your blue dot :) Thank you, I enjoyed writing it. ^_^ And too Leet, you do have a good point. It's just a shame to have to start trying to catch up with people who have been specializing for a few weeks. It'll be a while before I can afford an Assult suit that will let me carry around more than one piece of equipment. I feel useless without having at least nanohives and nanite injectors with me. Like I said, I'm no front line expert so kills will be small for me still. I'd keep running my logi-suits with an AR but they are slow and thin as paper compared to heavies and assults, and modules don't really help enough to fix that so I can properly compete on the front line. I'll do what I can though. |

Tyler Hall wrote:i too still carry the rep gun, and people do seem to arppriciate it...BUT a lot of teammates still look at the K/D when the battle ends and and think you aren't contributing as much as them. you just have to find a group of people who need a Logi and you can still end up at, or close to, the top. you may have a K/D of 7/9, but if you revive 3-5 guys and rep a few more, not to mention the nanohives, you have done a made effort for the team. you just have to remember "it's for the team" even if they don't realize it. Yeah, Logi's (especially medi-logi's) are definitely taking one for the team... So glad this is only a beta right now. But Beta or not, it's still a game and I don't like not being recognized for my efforts. Which is why I'm trying to get some fighting done now. =P |

It was especially gratifying the other day when I was repping a blue STB heavy, and he turned around to face me and started hopping in the air while I was bringing him back up. It's the little things like seeing the appreciation (and not running away from me as I try to rep right after reviving you) that make me keep playing a LogiBro. When people used to repp me I gave them a nodding motion (look at them, look down, then look back at them) because it always threw me off when I repped people and they jumped around. But now that I know it's a show of appreciation, I don't mind it as much. |

Jumping is fine. :-D
No, I didn't mean it messed up my repp, I just meant it threw me off mentally. I had no idea if they were glitching or just being dumb. ^^ But like I said, I know better now. |
