After personally having a few 1 vs. 2 matches, and hating it, I really wonder how this situation can even happen.
Are there literally NO other human players qued up that could be added to your match when this happens? And in the minutes of load time before the match starts-- there are STILL no human players qued that could be joined in?
I know some players hate the idea of adding NPC allies to a multiplayer match, but seriously, if there are only 3 HUMANS PLAYING a match, then you might as well dump in as many NPC allies as possible. There is no way a programmed game AI can be better than a human player even accounting for lag [unless it is programmed to cheat] so it wouldn't cause an unfair advantage. But it WOULD at least provide a high scoring match to reward the few real humans that stuck around and didn't leave battle.
Much better than a 1 vs. 1 or 1 vs. 2 , which is a huge waste of time esp. in skirmish.
eg. If I spawn into a game as the ONLY human player on one side, pls spawn in a few NPC snipers, heavies and logistics and a whole bunch of assault. Assign two of those assault and one heavy to follow me around like a squad. That would be an actual game a person could play, and not even more minutes wasted waiting for a match, and exit battle to quarters to que up again. - And if you hate NPC allies, just exit the 1v1 player battle like you would have anyway! It is not like NPC allies can ruin your already ruined game matchup lol. |

I understand why you'd want NPCs filling the extra slots, but it won't work.
I find NPCs are never balanced in a FPS, they're either really good (aimbots arrrrgghh) or just plain dumb. It's frustrating when you're playing a game and there's literally nobody else around, but NPCs can't fill the spot for them, just can't happen. Instead, remember this is a beta and that we don't have a massive playerbase, when the game is released we should have a lot more players which means you'll rarely find an empty game (I hope..) |
