I know a lot of people, myself included, that hated this game initially but has grown a liking to it now. Even with all of its beta issues, we still enjoy the game. And there is much more to come...so what do you guys think? Will the playerbase be massive, moderate, or only "cult-numbers"?? |

I haven't seen much advertising on it or promotions either. Other shooters haven't heard of it yet. But if they hand it free with a ps3 purchase, that may help |

I haven't seen anything I'm looking forward to yet :( Everything ive heard/liked/wanted is all still on PAPER Thats not changing anytime soon. Infact someone tell me one instance where CCP changed the gameplay for the better from feedback?
They nerfed scout strafing speed....but I guess it depends who you ask if it is for the better |

If it's "Find a corporation and conquer the galaxy, build defenses from sandbox maps, and handle diplomacy/politics/tactics" then you'll find that many many will stick around.
For me, it'll be about how they handle commanders and the RTS aspect of the game. If commands is nothing more then dropping turrets and giving small orders of objectives then running out onto the field himself, then I may as well of just stuck with MAG. But i guess this being Free almost guarantees that it'll have some success. I disagree. A lot of FPS players (myself included) just want to get in and shoot things. We don't want to get involved with all the clan/ corp drama. Since I'm here, and I am in a corp. I don't mind all the politics, as long as I'm not chosen to take part in it. I am a soldier, not a politician. I just want to shoot that guy that was told to shoot me.
But honestly, the allure is everything but the gameplay. No other shooter is offering what dust will offer. That's why it has great potential to have a huge playerbase. Sure, cod fans will always be cod fans. But if they get the gameplay mechanics up to par plus the customization options.....this game should have a good base. |

F2P playerbase on the PS3 will not appreciate the complexity of this game. FAIL marketing. F2P is filled with little kids and idiots for the most part. When this game fails and you are holding down planets with a bunch of 12 year olds your gonna wish you had the mag playerbase back. go away troll, you really dont know anything about what your talking about. what you just described was the COD playerbase. F2P thrives on its own there are several games out there older than EVE who rack in numbers bigger than your AAA games and they all have a robust population of all ages not just crybabies who are still severly butthurt that their favorite game in the entire world just went dead. welcome to reality, **** thrives or dies move on. wheres this MAG playerbase you guys keep chest thrumping about, last time i checked there wasnt over 300 of you on in all factions?
The MAG playerbase is like half dust beta's playerbase |
