Hey all, just wanted to touch base on the topic of joining a corp. I've been playing the beta for a while now, but mostly sniping since I'm quite a noob at fps. I've got no mic so very little xp with working with others. I'm willing to learn if there is a corp that will have me. I'm a casual and infrequent player (family man) but don't want to miss out on the fun.
Is there any hope for me? Am I completely unattractive to other more serious players? Can I even play at this stage without a mic?
Thanks in advance

Cool, thanks for the replies so far. I will just have to get a mic. Unfortunately I don't have a BT headset for my phone either. I assume you all mean a mobile headset that would work with PS3 or do you mean just the regular headset (iphone mic for example) and using Skype to communicate? Chatting on the global channel with folks has been hard since I don't even have a keyboard so I haven't really hooked up with anyone. Those I have played with are probably pretty irritated by my lack of mic and keyboard as well. I'm feeling like dead weight right now : ( . |

We have a new trainer who provides lessons regarding voiceless squad techniques so that members without Mics can get the most from their experiences in game. We expect 4 things from out members: Family friendly comms (if you have them), not being a jerk, asking for help, and most importantly to have fun! Join the corp that will give you the opportunity to help others learn to love the game. Join the MTAKs.
I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to follow up on this. I've missed the tournament as well, of course. MTAK sounds interesting, how and where do I join?

It's understandable that not everyone has a mic. It's not always been such a requirement until recent times since organized team work is becoming commonplace in shooters. But no, wired headsets for your phone won't work, but any bluetooth device can sync with the PS3. It's what i used for a while before getting a Turtle Beach. If only for your own sake I recommend looking at getting something as it makes team work a thousand times easier, and makes gaming a much more social activity.
Thanks for tip on Turtle Beach, which model did you get? |
