Repair guns should be a side arm. That way it cuts into your dps BUT yo can fit more stuff in equipment. You know which aren't guns. |

Then how would logis use repair guns? We have no side arm slot and we can't put it into our light weapon slot or else we wouldn't be able to defend our selves. |

Having it as a sidearm would allow heavies to use it.
Maybe allow placing some equipment in sidearm if suit has at least one equipment slot. Or making a weapon version that requires a equipment slot on suit but doesn't fill it. May be to hard to code with out breaking more stuff then it is worth. |

I think the repair gun should also be the revival tool. But that may be OP if your able to revive someone from 5 feet away and heal them at the same time. |

Well my other idea was buff it and make it a light weapon. I thought a sidearm would be a inbetween compromise. But now that I think about it more if I'm going to suggest anything it's making the repair gun a light weapon. Then give logi suits a massive boost to range, like 200-300% *this is in the same range as eve logi bonuses*
Also if this was done I would argue that logis should gain a sidearm. Like a medic in TF2, the healing gun is awesome. In eve online, your shield reps take spots guns could of gone. I don't think these are bad things. |

Like in Eve, weapons should be limited to weapon slots which means equipment can go into weapon slots but not vice versa although I would support the Nova knife as equipment if it had more uses. |

No. Sorry, but no. Despite being support, we are all soldiers, and we should not have to compromise our role as a soldier to equip a non-essential tool. |

Oh now that's an interesting idea. So it would be like having 5 high slots. But only 3 turret hardpoints. you can still fit utility |

Um, it would be an essential tool if it worked like it does in eve online. Are you saying eve should move shield reps to medium slots?
How about this then. Keep the crapy equipment repair gun, and intro a Heavy Repair laser that uses a light slot. Hav3 it be 5 times better at healing with 3 times times the range. |

Thinking about size of every weapon and item, the side arms are relatively small. The repair gun is an awkward piece of equipment. But if everything is in a black-hole backpack or stuck on with magnets then what does it matter?
However if there were specific slots and fitting because of dimensions of objects and the suits ability to hold/carry/support/interact/use them then there would be validity to only using an item in a ceratin slot.
BUT there is, if not then we could move our High and Low slot equipment into whatever slots we wanted... it would be fun. Dont get me wrong, I want the Repair gun named REAPER because it can heal and kill, but I believe it should be left in the equipment slot.
Knives and more utility? I've never had to open a can on the battlefield yet.. XD but damaging sensitive equimpment would be just fine. |
