Recently it became possible to transfer isk from EVE to dust via singularity. I assume this was an exploit, as it has effectively broken the game.
Isk means nothing now. Dust Corporations have billions in their wallets and are able to fund endless tanks, dropships, prototype gear, etc. People have even started giving away isk to players via local chat in the quantities of hundreds of millions at a time.
Dust 514 was supposed to be a game with consequences, where if you lose something expensive, it hurts you. At the moment in Dust there is nothing on the market that will even put a scratch in a well established EVE corp wallet. The result: a risk free gaming experience where there is no real concept of loss for many players.
Also since people who have EVE accounts payed for a sub, this takes the pay to win concept to a new level. Even worse is the fact that the isk came from singularity, meaning it is basically free isk for EVE players.
The only solution I see to fix this is to remove the exploit and wipe all dust mercs wallets. Yes it is unfair to the players who didnt transfer isk, but these players will ultimately benefit as they will not have to fight people with unlimited funds. I only hope this happens before the beta tournament, otherwise any team who does not have an EVE corp might as well not even apply for a spot.

This is how it is going to be at launch, this is how EVE is right now. You have corps suicide gank ships loosing millions of ISK because what they can get out of it is more so they will do it. Tournaments are bought in EVE, they do it before hand, hell some do it right in the chat during the tournament. This is New Eden, be it go or bad.
I love both games.
But a voice in the back of my head makes me feel like Dust is a launch pad to get people to play EVE, since there you can make millions of ISK with out to much trouble, then just give it to your Dust player. Do you understand the difference in prices in Eve and DUST? Im sure you do cause you play EVE. A corp with even 100million in DUST is crazy, add a Corp with 100 Billion... OK sounds fun. That is why CCP has said time and time again, they didn't want a Dust Corp, and a EVE Corp. They wanted both players to fit together in New Eden Corps. Not self separating each other.
No im pretty sure you are wrong. CCP wants people to be able to play their game and chose how involved they want to get in the Dust/EVE connection. If you want to hop on and play a couple matches and have fun thats great. But if you want to get more into it and go to null sec, form alliances, etc, you should be able to do that as well.
Yes CCP wants integration between dust and eve corps. It should not come at the cost of breaking the game for people who do not go this route. |
