Now that's a total crock of $h!7.
MAG was great, but now it's a free-for-all where anything goes, because there's no gate keepers to make sure that things aren't getting out of hand.
All of the glitching, lag, and lack of players meaning that most of the maps are unavailable to play, make that game worse than getting paper cuts on your genitals.
Dust has a long way to go,but I'd rather play this than MAG in it's current state any day. |

Dust has a long way to go,but I'd rather play this than MAG in it's current state any day. I actually went back to try out MAG last week, and borrowed my friends copy even; what I found was horrible. The game is nothing as it once was, and the players are worse then Warhawk and Warhawkers (which I am). Still the game is horrible now. Anyone who says MAG today is better is day dreaming of nostalgia. Because, let me tell you I have some fond memories of MAG, and it's now an ugly bloated, rotted, viscous, degenerated bile of crap.
You know,I still have my copy, and occasionally I'm tempted to go back for a few matches, then I have to slap myself in the face and remember how absolutely horrible it was when I stopped playing around five months ago.
I,and others have to realize that MAG is a mere hollowed out husk of a shell that it once was,and those glory days of that game are long gone, and are never coming back.

Who needs to get a grip, the players that want to zerg rush to the top level in a week,or the devs that are actually tying to make a game that will last longer than when the next shooter comes out?
I know this beta has more than it's fair share of problems, but the only real issue is that the gains are way too low after three days of solid play, and the ISK reward is pretty meager at that point as well.
All then need to do is to make a hard ceiling of say like 150k,and a hard floor where you won't earn any less than a certain amount.I think that everyone would be happy if they were making no less than 10k sp per match once they have exhausted their high level cap,but all of this has to coincide with the function of not touching the ceiling of the amount of ISK that we can earn.
If I'm making 100k ISK,but only getting 10k SP at the end of five days,I think I could live with that.
BTW,the seven years thing only applies to if you have a character sitting idle collecting passive SP.With the points boosters, daily earnings, along with passive sp gain,it would be much quicker,I assume.

you're high.
that's exactly what happens: you play more, you get better. the game rewards you with unlocking better gear, you play more, you get better.
what you want is "montessori video gaming" = everyone comes in first because the devs do a bunch of handholding to protect you from the facts that you are finding out right now. you weren't as good as you thought you were and now this game proves it to you because better players own you and you blame the game.
typical.
Peace B That's the problem it's completely devoid of skill. It's whoever has the better gear wins not who is the better player. yea, knowing the game/maps/modes ect is a huge enough advantage in every other game and too throw more advantages on top of that is crazy.
Except for the fact that with Dust going to have something around 3000 maps, how can you ever get use to them? You can't.
Unlike every other shooter where you play the same maps over and over and over again until you learn every single nook and cranny, you will actually be in a lot of territories for the first time all the time, putting more emphasis on team play, and not making this just another run and gun shooter, that tries to pass itself off as a squad based shooter.

You just said it and contradicted yourself right there. The maps aren't too big,it's that the squads are too small.
Seems like there's a new thing to QQ about every single week.
First it's the AR's are OP,then it's the strafe speed, now it's that the maps are too big.
Always something with you people.

Maps are to big for 16 v 16 increasing squad cap wont make the maps smaller. Only player count can do that.
But if the player count on a said "too big" map were increased by say 2x,then all of that open space wouldn't seem like such a big deal.I bet if it were 16 vs 16 on a MAG domo map, that would seem too big too, wouldn't it?see how that works?
Man,I thought I'd never see the day that anyone was actually complaining about a map in a shooter being too big.

LOL every single dust map looks like a copy of the previous one, no originality in them at all. Infact i can make a dust map on unity 3d in about 5 minutes
And you know this because you've seen every single Dust map, right?
QFT.
