On the patch notes it reads:
"Orbital Strike
* By using the off-map support deployment UI in Dust, squad leaders can call in Support from EVE Online players
* EVE Online pilots need to be present at a space beacon directly above the district of the battle in order to provide tactical support
* Tactical support exists in three versions, EMP-, Kinetic- and laser strike. The EVE Online pilot decides which will be delivered.
So I have both DUST and an EVE Online subscription and I have changed my EVE Online launcher to log into the Sisi (or Singularity) server. And I know how to call in strikes as a squad leader, successfully bringing the rain during a random match some time ago. But now I want to do it for myself just to go through the process and understanding the knowledge to others who want to rain down on their enemies.
After seeing the DUST Keynote 2012, from my understanding we have to have a "bombardment computer" of some sort which I am unsure of how to get a hold of. Another thing is finding the places where DUST players battle; how do I find them once they are battling on the ground? Or is that something where the location is given when a contract is made? And how do you make that contract between DUST players?
Thanks in advance. I will post and edit later to give a tutorial for others that may have the same questions. |

if your refering to pilots in EVE calling down orbitals thats not what opening up SiSi is for. im pretty sure that functionality isnt really in play yet but there could be EVE side events going on that im not privy to since i was only a trial player :( |

I'm interested in learning about the "How to find them on the ground bit". I've messed around for fun just flying to the Districts on different temperate worlds, but I'm really wondering how that's going to work on the final version... will the Dust guys be told what District they are in and have to relay that to the EVE players by chat? If they're in the same Corp will it automatically show it? Will it only show which one it is once they call in the strike and the EVE player has to go there with a quickness before it 'times out'? |
