I've been trying to understand why, as I continue to play Dust, my SP gain diminishes even though I'm (on average) getting more kills/stuff done each time.
From tooling around the forums and using the search function, I've come to understand there's a weekly SP cap. But..that's about all the information I could glean.
Can anyone be more detailed about this process, or direct me to a place where it's been explained? (I could find none)
thank you. |

Every game you play causes your SP gain to gradually decrease... eventually if you play too much you reach 0, which is the skill cap.
However, every week on Wednesday it resets. |

Does anyone know the set amount of SP you can gain per week, then? Also, as many others have expressed..that's some bull |

It makes complete sense: it prevents people from gaining an inherent advantage from just grinding, thus allowing for skill to factor in.
There is no set amount of SP per week. Its just how much you play that factors it. |

There is a cap for the active gained SP and thats around 500.000SP. But to reach the cap you need to play it non stop. Though the more you play the less SP you gain and in the end you will get 0SP. This kinda makes active skillboosters absolute worthless cause you just reach the cap much faster. In my opinion you should get also a 50% increase on the SP cap not just 50% extra SP after each match. So you would end up with 750.000SP per week. |

500,000 seems pretty small. I think I've earned more than 500K sp in a week after the weekly cap |

Excellent point, as I'm hoping they change this up, otherwise I see no reason to have SP boosters and or use the 7 day one's. The 1-3 day boosters still have value, but not the longer duration.
Unless you change it where the SP bonus has no cap. |

the xp from skillpoint boosters do not effect your cap. thus effectively raising your cap by 50% if you spend the entire week with a booster.

I don't know about that. I am using a 7 day booster and 3 days later I am not getting much SP from games at all. Seems to me the booster counts to the cap. |

Also keep in mind you get something 200000 passive SP a week... I think thats it at least. If you get 1 SP every 3 seconds it is anyway |

Its not based on how much you play, it is based on how many SP's you gain, that causes your sp gain to gradually decrease.

And will become bigger with passive boosters. Only problem with this system is really limiting players that pursue more SP intensive classes. But that's not really a huge deal. |
