So I absolutely love the diversity of weapon selection. There's explosive choices, long-range choices, close combat sidearms, and everything in between. The problem is, I feel that I prefer some weapons over another just because of how much easier it is to do damage with them.
My point is, the mass driver doesn't seem powerful enough. It is my favorite weapon so far and I enjoy everything it has to offer except one thing...it doesn't seem to do as much damage as it says, or maybe it's just because everyone has huge shields and explosions are weak vs shields? Not to mention it only has 16 shots, which means enough ammo to kill about two people before you have to find more. The only real way to get kills with it is by stealing other's kills, which is unfair.
Now let's go to the assault rifle. I prefer the tactical version, but even then it seems like the regular one has a huge range potential. Not all ARs should be this accurate, that's why there is a tactical one in the first place. Not only that, but I can usually kill a person using a militia AR with less than a full clip of bullets and still have plenty of ammo to run around and find a couple more guys. This isn't anywhere close to the same with the mass driver.
Whatever the pistol is called, I love it. It seems like the most powerful weapon in the game if you can get close enough to use it.
The sniper, pretty awesome considering you can oneshot most infantry with the charge variant. The only problem with it is being able to hit practically anyone on the map if you can see them.
Submachine gun is perfect the way it is especially with the ability to burst fire for maximum accuracy. I feel that the AR needs to feel more like this with less accuracy but still high rate of fire.
Haven't messed around with laser rifles or nova knifes yet :/
Swarm launchers feel balanced now that they move slower, I would love a variant for some sort of rocket launcher instead of the one that locks on to two things at once.
Forge guns are still awesome. I'm glad they are specifically anti-vehicle and not really a weapon for infantry.
Heavy Machine Guns are freaking beast. I haven't had a change to use them much, but whenever I see a heavy with one I run away. Their range is much better and I'm glad they are much more powerful.
TLDR: Mass drivers need some more kick. They should have either more power or more ammo. Regular Assault rifles are way too accurate, and need to function a bit more like SMGs. Assault rifles also feel like that gun you use just because it's easy to make kills with. I like most of the other weapons and feel they are balanced. |
