They really don't make sense to me, we go to a planet and use structures already there to try and destroy the MCC's. We know we are being supported by unseen forces above us from space. A drop ship comes to give us vehicles, etc. We can call in Orbital Strikes. Have EVE player support are fight on the ground. If someone is shooting down on the planet why aren't they shooting a barge that doesn't move and has hardly any offensive power? Instead sending ground guys to do it. You see a Rohk shooting to the planet, the Rohk can't shoot the barge? Or send it's drones to attack the barge? I love the two games working together, but the current mechanic's make no sense to me, in skirmish mode.
My suggestion is get rid of the MCC's, make it about capturing land, resources, whatever you want to call it. Where Clone Pools, Ammo Caches, Ground Turrets, are like they are now. They can be captured and re-captured and even destroyed. To win you have to take hold the primary objective points and capture them, and then move on. Maybe Primary Objectives have to be taken one at a time, this would pull the fight in making it more fierce. Very large maps maybe you can take two at a time, but there are several primaries. At the same time other squads would still be able to go captured secondary objectives. Once Primary is capped you have a set amount of time that it needs to be defended before moving on. Capping a objective should need atlas a squads or two to do it, so the lone recon guy can't cap a map. While other squads can support, or capture secondary objectives.
In the cinematic's we know Amarr have a ship skim the surface and drop there guys in. Attackers should always insert like this, where defenders start on the ground. Where the defenders have many locations to spawn at. Where attacker insert more like the game Section 8, where they can choose but also can steer on the way down, or can appear on to a beacon. And like that guy, have AAA turrets that can either be captured, or destroyed. So if a AAA is up, your equipment being called down maybe get destroyed before it lands. Same with a Mercenary in route.
The MCC game seems like a basic stripped down version of the Titan Battles from Battlefield 2152. That you had to the same thing, capture silo's, to launch missiles, to take down the opposing Titan's shields. Once the shields were down, you used the APC's to launch yourself in a pod to fight on the deck of the Titan then move to three different spots to sabotage it, and get it to self destruct then job off the Titan and parachute down. Where in that game, the Titan had man able guns that you could use for support and could be moved around the map.
Now this is just my opinion on it. :)
