I tried to use Laser Rifle, but failed to understand how to use it efficiently. I understand that its damage increase over time, but still I wasn't able to find situations where it's better to use Laser Rifle rather than Assault Rifle.
Could someone who are successfully using Laser Rifle give me several advices. I also would like to hear if corp battle pros found a niche for it their corp tactics. |

You probably have to level up the skills to make it easier at first. Then you just need to find your role. You should fire at medium range and never short or very long.
I use it with a Heavy dropsuit and here are my reasons:
  - the laser rifle attracts attention towards you because it's easy to see, so you need to be able to defend yourself. - you don't really need to be mobile because the LR isn't very adaptable. |

IMO the Beam LR in its current form should have been a Heavy only weapon with increased Dmg against vehichles. The LR that everyone can fit should have been a short to mid range "pulse" LR |

The LR that everyone can fit should have been a short to mid range "pulse" LR I don't know if it's lag, but when I use the laser rifle, it seems to fire in pulses. On the ground, a "pulse" laser isn't going to look different from a "beam" in any other way than firing duration, if you can even see the beam at all.
That's out of the way. now for OP. This rifle feels like an Amarrian version of the blaster AR that's been in the game since it started. If you keep a good stream of fire on-target, you will build up lethal DPS quickly. But you need to be hitting, which feels harder with this weapon. For damage, the rifle has a "spin-up" period where it's doing much less DPS than maximum. On the other hand, heat buildup means you have to ease off before it seizes up. Usage: For me, it feels like a precision-accurate M249-type weapon, spitting off a lot of "rounds" in a short time and being best at a medium range. However, that absolute accuracy is a pain, as it's easier to hit a fly with a swatter than hitting it with chopsticks. |

The laser rifle is cool, but the requirements you need to meet to get the most out of it don't happen enough, the only time it is good is at its extreme range and even then it still needs a bit of charge up time before its really hurting people.
I've stopped using it altogether because the AR is better in 90% of situations, even at long range the AR is more reliable. |
