I've heard many times about a potential new weapon coming in to play called a 'Scrambler Rifle'.
It has puzzled me what exactly it would be, my only intelligent guess is that it's a laser gun that fires in pulses instead of beams (like the pistol), do you guys have any thoughts? |

The laser rifle fires a beam of photons.
The scrambler fires a laser beam that causes little damage, but charges the air so it will conduct electricity, then sends a high voltage pulse to the target. In real life this is called an electro-laser, they exist but regular guns still work better with current technology.
Now a guess of in game affect. Will probably be long ranged. Small magazine and ammo carried like the pistol. Probably very accurate like the pistol. Could be a designated marksman or battle rifle role, or the Amarr version of a sniper rifle. Could be both, with tactical being sniper like and assault and burst being more of a battle rifle. I would assume it will damage shields more then armour like laser rifle, but probably won't do reduced damage at close range like it.
For those not familiar with term. A battle rifle uses full power rifle rounds and may or may not have selective fire. M-14 for example with 7.62x51mm An assault rifle uses a reduced power round. for example M-16 with 5.52x45mm or ak-47 with 7.62x39mm |
