Hi there everyone, I've started this topic in the hopes to add permanent Items for AUR or large amounts of ISK, I was playing Dust and I was really enjoying it, but then i realised, wait a second.. what If I bought new equipment? So I did so, I bought a GEK assault rifle for around 8k ISK which I thought wasn't too much, and too say the least the weapon served me well for a while till i was killed, 8 kills for 8K which wasn't too bad at all. Upon realising you lose your items once killed I decided to start this post, so here's my idea pay for perm. items with ISK and AUR, of course for larger amounts than usual, like 4,000 AUR for a mid range AR or the like, or maybe 400,000 ISK for a low-mid end Rifle, I've just jotted some ideas down below, please share your thoughts on this.
Pricing - - - - - - - - - - - - - ]Different amounts of money for different types of weapons More expensive high end items - less expensive low end items able to purchase items with both ISK and AUR
Levels - - - - - - - - - - - - - Low to mid range items can be bought with large amounts of ISK, whilst Higher end gear can only be bought with AUR Balance initiatives like those in EVE to balance out the weapons, more features for premium items as well
So please share your thoughts on this, and add any useful/relevant things towards it or against it, it's your opinion so speak it, and of course... EVE Forever from Australia :]
Note: I realise topics like this have been created before, but i believe that mine is different, and as an EVE player contributing to the community is key. |

Permanent items better than militia are BAD, they remove what really makes Dust different: WHEN YOU DIE YOU LOOSE STUFF. I already think the AUR "mag" dopsuit (sever logi etc.), the toxin submachine gun and the firefly scout dropsuit should have militia stats. If more permanent items are added to the game i wont play dust anymore, why loose a lot of time gathering isk and creating fittings if someone with money can just make a better permanent one paying? |

Yeah OP you're missing the point of Dust. The economy is going to be a huge part of the game and permanent items stifle said economy, honestly we have too many permanent items as is. The load screen with Tue items bought > fittings made > fittings lost in battle > repeat is there for a reason. Every death matters because you're losing something that matters, not just waiting 10 seconds to respawn and go again. |

Well they are already giving a Black ops HAV BPO to the winning of the corporation tournament... And this is very OP!!!! |

But try to win :) If you win... you are already OP and this is only trophy. 16 BPO for the winers in.... I supose 5 000 000 of players is irrelevant.
For max BPO that you can buy it will be meta 1. Rest only BPC from trade/salvage/rare events.

I like the idea of a BPO being rare and powerful requiring a lot of effort to obtain - like winning a corp tourney.
I would love to have a corp be able to take over a weapons factory that can give people in the corp a BPO as long as they hold the factory and it is supplied with resources. It would be a great way to make the fights have meaning. |

The whole point of this entire thing is being a mercenary and fighting for contracts and stuff. If you can just buy permanent items, you lose the incentive to make money, which undercuts the entire purpose of the game (doing contracts for corporations to make ISK to buy more stuff to help you win future contracts).

LAV, not HAV. It's still ******** and I wish they wouldn't do it though. There should not be any BPOs in this game besides the starter fit infantry stuff. |

Thanks for sharing your opinion everyone, it's much appreciated, and I guess you guys are right, once you've already got that specific item you lose the incentive to buy other things (especially if you have highest end gear) and I guess that getting killed and losing your gear is a good thing in making the game different.
Also I like the idea of BPO's in tournaments and prizes, that is actually an excellent idea. |
