hello all, I'm here to give a couple tactics to help deal with heavies when you are in THEIR optimal killing range.
There are certain situations where you can achieve a victory against a heavy wielding an HMG in CQC combat, but it requires A LOT of situational awareness, predicting the heavies movements, and good reflexes.
Put an object between you and the the heavy: You NEED something to dance around in order to survive. This object, whether it be a crate, rock, or a LAV. This object will act as your life shield, you need to use it well in order to survive.
tunnel vision your opponent: SCREW EVERYTHING ELSE, if that heavy gets a clear line of sight on you that last around 1.5 seconds, you're screwed. if you have a sniper shooting at your feet, shrug it off. if you have a guy tickling your back with an AR, screw him. The heavy is what matters. if you take your eyes off him for a second, you will die.
Take pot shots: jump above the object, take out his shields, lower his armor. Do anything you can to lower his health. be unpredictable as best as you can.
YOU NEED GRENADES: in order to get that heavy on your level health wise, you need grenades to take out large chunks of his health. Cook them, learn how long it takes for them to explode, then throw them when they hit the point where they will explode on impact.
DO NOT RUN: You run, you die. It's that simple. the reason for this is, there are probably not enough objects around you for you to zig zag through that will allow you the avoid the HMG's raining death.
if you follow these steps, you have a much higher chance of success at killing a heavy in his kill range.
Avoid challenging a heave in CQC combat in an open area where there is no cover near by. |

Keep up the good work fellow heavies they may yet fear us again.
Oh and don't listen to the op . That's horrible advice, we prefer you run right at us so we don't have to chase you, |

Grab an AR, shoot heavy in the head and watch it drop - that's the best tactic. |

Being a Heavy myself the OP's tactics are sound. Every once in a while I find a red dot that does things like you say and it makes the engagement a lot more difficult. But I also know that as a heavy going up against someone that knows what they are doing I usually just disengage and fall back, wait to see if they pursue and if they do I have fallen back to a position that they no longer have those objects to use as cover. But I die the most when 3 or more people are all shooting me, so teamwork is the best way to counter a heavy (if he's alone) |

Heavies be ballin' these days. They seem unstoppable, but my technique is just run as far away as I can, get distance because range is your friend when you up against one. Just never run in straight lines. |

Easiest way to kill a heavy? Get to higher ground. When it aims up, you can move back, or jump over and smash his head. |

fatties crossing the street. Funniest thing to watch in the game.
At tmills was that you on top of the building?
It took me forever to find who was shooting at me. Must have been funny watching me turn in circles.
P.S can we just bury this thread already. You guys are starting to adapt to quick to killing us fatties. |

Heavies counter to OP's tactic:
Throw a grenade on one side of the object and run(waddle) around the other side to corner him and make him feel bad for thinking that what he did was a good idea.
That said however, the OP's strategy is the best option if a heavy somehow got to close and there is nothing you can do to get away. |

Don't know what he's talking about......I was along on B on the 3 letter map and a heavy spawned in. I jumped down off the mountain and started booking it. He chased me all the way to the supply and around A before his fat ass got tired by the time I got to C LOL
I've taken on some heavies and smoked them. But you never know which heavy has that serious armor, so just book it. If you hadn't took down their shields before your health gets hit then forget about it. Because the heavy will come at you while you're trying to hide behind cover in a CQC situation. |

lolz ya that was me I almost got you twice cause of that but your logi bro got me. I try not to use my heavy suit on that maps for that reason exactly |
