I really hope this guy is just trolling lol.
Back to the point yes the server lag needs to be fixed by the tournament, most skirmish maps you cant even walk around cause it gets so bad.

Don't forget that CCP has the resources to reinforce a node in a given server like how they reinforce certain nodes (ie: a constellation of star systems) in Tranquility to ensure that smooth performance is achieved. Every Eve Online alliance has periodically submitted notifications to CCP on which systems they will have massive fleet fights at so that CCP can reinforce the proper nodes to avoid crashes. This has been their policy since the Dominion Expansion which came out somewhere in 2009.
If they can reinforce nodes for Singularity as well then we should have no problem. |

Based on the improvement to the core game play elements thus far (or lack of, depending on personal opinion) i'm highly doubtful anything which is core, like lag or framerate, will be fixed anytime soon, more like fixed SoonGäó which means it could be fixed five years from now based on what the eve people say about how slowly ccp implement changes...
But dont worry, thats just ccp and how they do things, and we should just be patient and show faith like the eve people suggest because this is the way of the eve universe....
Im hopeful. But im also a realist.

This game seriously is a joke. I'm not understanding the logic behind having a tournament on a broken game. Devs could as least respond with saying whether or not they have a fix for the lag/frame-rate issues before the tournament goes live. |

Well if ya forgot we are testing this very fun very fast paced game it will take time for ccp to fix all these issues. the more feedback we give the faster it will go..... i hear or well read many others like yourself complaining about it, if you dont wanna beta test a game then dont do it..! Dont be in the tournament.... This is only one tournament of many to come. We have nothing but time people. Well some of us anyways. I only get to play a few days a week for 5 or 6 hours. Cause of work. I actually like this game pretty much like mag just eay more futuristic..... a lot more customizations! Love that. Finally played with people that had mics. Im assuming they got to that issue quick. Thanks GM... I BELIEVE THIS GAME WILL EAT OTHER SHOOTERS FOR BREAKFAST!
Thanks for your time. DBD................ Silent Knight 341 |

I'm 39 in November.
Last night, after getting motivated by Stylie, I jumped on....
First few games - all 1v1 or 1v2.....a joke on maps of this size in Skirmish
Then, get into a "larger" game - 4 vs 4 - and the entire other team camp in the mountains with tactical sniper rifles. My side took all the letters and we won even though we all went negative.
Point being, besides the lag and frame rate issues, there are core game play issues involving player numbers, matchmaking, weapon balance, objective based play, etc that are not progressing in the right direction build to build.
Current build was an improvement on a couple of fronts - that being improved hit detection (possibly due to strafe nerf) and some vehicle rebalance, but on the whole, its still going in the wrong direction in my opinion.
MAG suppression is tons more fun than Dust and that is really saying something.
I hope it gets better, but I'm a realist and I expect that maybe after a couple more patches, that due to commercial arrangements ccp will try to pass this broken game as a AAA console release......sad sad sad

Funny you say that...when Sony shuttered Zipper, CCP should have actively recruited the Zipper folks who worked on MAG....
Even before Zipper was shut, they fired a bunch of folks, MSP being one, CCP should have recruited those people because they were mostly exMAG resources from what I heard.....
Basically, its like this: Zipper covered the FPS aspects very well, but could not do persistence or MMO very well.....
CCP on the other hand, have the metagame, the universe scale and persistence, but just can't translate that into a good FPS experience.....
Basically all we need is MAG game play style with the scale and persistence of the EvE universe.
Is it really that hard? Planetside 2 on the PC is delivering...... |

Check out this thread here. They are gathering feedback to try to pinpoint the problems to improve their chances of getting a fix out.
Make sure you give decent feedback if you actually want a fix to come through in time. Help yourself by helping them :)
@Someone above who spoke about reinforced nodes : It's not quite as simple as they can do it in eve. We're not on the eve servers in a traditional sense. We login and chat, send mails, market/trade and contract management, and our skills all are handled by the main eve servers (SiSi in this case) but the battles are not actually on SiSi themselves, even though their progress is tracked/linked to SiSi. CCP's got servers in a few locations around the world for battle servers, because in a FPS game latency is much more important to minimize than in a spaceship game like eve where a few ms will not make pretty much any difference. |

To answer the OP's question,I wouldn't bet on it.
Personally,I have no interest in the tournament unless they hook us up on TQ.
If this beta still has ungodly framerate issues up until th tourney,I'm probably not going to bother. |

The game has a lot of potential, but it is lacking so greatly in the FPS realm, almost like every build is trying to take away from FPS skill....slower game mechanics, no sway on the sniper, no recoil on the AR....just feels to me that they are trying to dumb it down for the NON fpsers out there. |
