To better explain the title, look at the spawning in Ambush. It's a cluster *bleep* of random spawn points. One problem is, many times folks end up spawning right in front of their enemy. I recall spawning right between two players who were shooting at each other. I also recall a player spawning right in front of me, I nova knifed the poor sap. But that didn't seem right to me. I believe that some matches are being decided by the spawning mechanics. And how is it an ambush when BOTH parties have no idea where the enemy is coming from? An ambush is a surprise attack meant to catch one side off guard. Ambush should still be a death match, of course. But why not have Attackers who are doing the ambushing and Defenders who are fighting them off?
How about this? There should be Two (or more) spawn areas for Attackers outside the structures being fought over. These areas cannot be accessed by the Defenders. That way we can prevent spawn camping. The Defenders should have multiple spawn locations all over the facilities, all of which are random spawns. The key thing is that both sides are not sharing the same spawn points, less confusion and way less spawn and die moments. That and both sides have advantages. The Attackers can hit the Defenders from different sides, putting on pressure to defend all access roads. And the Defenders have unpredictability, the Attackers will have a hard time holding the facility when the enemy can come from anywhere inside it.
I would like your thoughts on this. I expect honesty, cruel or kind. |

You have no idea how brilliant that is.
Let's think about this. In EVE, planetary structures are "inked" to each other. Resources and products travel these links to get from one structure to another. Dust mercs could attack the links and attack the convoys that travel them. Destroy the armored transport and the link is disabled for a hurtful amount of time. You're limited to how many planetary complexes you can own. So It's the perfect way to deal a blow without taking the complexes themselves. |

I'm liking the brain storm in this thread. Bumping to keep it up.
To further address the random spawn problem. Me and an ally just spawn next to an enemy LAV. We were both blown up and our deaths cost us the match.

But Yes, i think Ambush could be a name for a different type of match. Maybe the current could be renamed "Scramble" or "Land Snatch"? As in the attackers are already in the base and need to be flushed out by the defenders, this could go well with the spawn anywhere mechanic. |

That could work. Maybe what kind of match that takes place can be decided by how the attackers approach the facility.
Oh and an update on the spawn issues.
-Enemy spawns 3 feet in front of me, shotgunned him from behind.
-Spawn in front of an enemy heavy as he was getting that HMG of his warmed up.
- Spawned just in time for a speeding LAV to run me over half a second later. |

4 times in a row, I spawn right in front of an enemy (who of course kills me), 4 times in a row! But what really got to me was the fourth death. I spawned in front of an entire squad while they're all shooting. I didn't even have a chance to move the analog stick. |

Well, my worst fear was realized these past couple Ambush matches. The "random" spawn points are being memorized and camped. On some spawns there's either an HMG staring me in the face or a firing squad. |
